    Kind caregivers but inconsistent management

I'm torn: the staff at Lakeside Place are overwhelmingly kind, compassionate, and prompt - excellent physical therapy, an above-and-beyond hairdresser, fun activities, and a clean, well-appointed one-bedroom that felt like home. However, chronic understaffing and spotty off-shift/after-hours leadership left care inconsistent; responsiveness (especially weekends) and follow-through on sick calls were weak. Management problems - favoritism, staff mistreatment, and troubling handling of belongings/POA matters reported to me - made me uneasy. If you need low-level assisted living with warm caregivers, I'd recommend it; if you require reliable 24/7 nursing or trustworthy administration, proceed with caution.

    About Lakeside Place Senior Living

Lakeside Place Senior Living sits at 487 Highway 378 in Lexington, South Carolina, and you'll notice the star-shaped building right away, which gives everything an open and easy feeling, and they've made sure the grounds are well-kept with safe sidewalks, fenced areas, and plenty of parking, so you can get around without worrying too much. The community's run by CRSenior Living Management through a partnership-based way of operating, and their management team-located over in Charlotte, North Carolina-watches over several senior communities in the Southeast, which means they've got a good bit of know-how from different places. Staff size ranges somewhere between 11 and 50, and every employee seems focused on helping residents live healthier and happier lives with the care to back that up, whether you're pretty independent or need more daily help, or if you're living with Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, they've got memory care and assisted living services that include things like special activities, a safe environment, and on-call help. You'll find private rooms with big sinks, sturdy handrails, and emergency pull cords right in the bathrooms, plus you get to pick from several floor plans, which is pretty handy if you have preferences about space or layout.

Lakeside Place offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, nursing home, and even adult day care options, and they're really set up for people 55 and older who want choices about how they live; residents can take part in daily activities, enjoy outings around the area, and use the large activity room, bistro café, and community spaces with comfortable seating by a fireplace in the memory care area. The dining is restaurant-style and uses Southern-inspired meals prepared by chefs aiming for quality and nutrition, which makes meals both enjoyable and balanced, and housekeeping, high-speed internet, and transportation services are all part of the deal too, so you're not left struggling with the basics. There's a focus on keeping everyone active physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, and they try to spark creativity and encourage celebrating life through simple programs and community get-togethers, all of which seem designed to help each person feel included and engaged. If you're worried about memory loss or dementia, they pay special attention to that with trained staff and a memory care community that's easy to navigate and feels homey.

Families looking for advice get matched with local advisors who help sort out which services and communities fit best-this is a free service-and their team seems good about answering questions and explaining what you or your loved one might need, and they're also happy to provide information on other cities nearby if you want to see more options. They haven't published specific price details, but you get reviews to look at, and community information is checked for accuracy. There are a few customer reviews, and the average rating is 3.0 stars, marked as "Very Good." Lakeside Place has won the Best of Senior Living All Star award, which comes from families and residents rating them high on consistent care and support, so it's at least been recognized for doing a solid job. Lakeside Place Senior Living gives seniors a modern, beautiful environment that combines Southern hospitality with practical care, offering support that adjusts to how much help someone actually needs, whether that's full nursing support, assisted living, memory care, or more independent living.
