    Understaffed mismanaged untrustworthy nursing facility

I'm writing from my own experience: there are some genuinely kind, caring staff and my mom was comfortable at times, the location is convenient and parts of the facility are clean. However, I repeatedly encountered severe understaffing, poor management and spotty communication - calls and requests often went unanswered and transfers/medication coordination were mishandled. I was told the owner had left and there were troubling reports about billing/financial issues; phones and visitation were sometimes restricted until bills were settled, and residents were often neglected or left bored with no activities. Food and maintenance were inconsistent (cold lunches, spoiled cereal, broken AC at times), and the environment could feel prison-like during busy moves. I appreciate the hardworking caregivers, but systemic problems left me unable to trust the facility.

    About Gregory's Community Care

Gregory's Community Care sits in Piedmont, SC and offers several living options for seniors, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing home services, and while the place isn't brand new or fancy, folks seem to get a focus on their needs with services like companion care, help with bathing, memory support for those with dementia or Alzheimer's, medication management, and respite or short-term stays for families needing a break, and you can choose between a one-bedroom or semi-private room, both at listed prices that are easy to find if you want to compare costs. The building has a homelike setting with housekeeping, laundry, and full-time staff on hand to lend a hand throughout the day and night, and residents get meals with special diet options, like low or no sodium and low or no sugar, and a bath or full tub is available if needed. There's a garden for time outdoors, and inside and outside common areas give people room to relax, plus they run structured activities so that nobody needs to sit bored all day, with things like on-site and off-site devotional services, and transportation helps people get to appointments or shopping. The staff has training for medical needs, including diabetic and incontinence care, and the place is set up to keep seniors safe and comfortable even if needs grow more complex, but online reviews don't talk highly, with an average of just 0.5 stars from three reviews, which might give some families pause, though the facility does offer free assessments if you want to see what level of care fits best, and you can take a tour to get your questions answered, and like most licensed places, Gregory's has rules about staff ratios and follows health inspections. The vibe is simple, and it leans on basic comforts and helpful services rather than luxury or fancy trends, so if what matters most is reliable daily care and a plain environment close to activities in Piedmont, Gregory's Community Care gives you a straightforward option without a lot of fluff.
