Hosanna Health and Rehab sits at 109 Bentz Rd in Piedmont, SC, and offers a mix of skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and independent living options, and the place is large enough for 88 residents, though about 78 to 79 beds tend to be filled most of the time, with staff working around the clock to make sure everyone has the help they need, be that with getting dressed, bathing, eating, or managing medications, and there's always a licensed nurse on-call or on site in case something happens overnight or during the day, which keeps people's families feeling a bit more reassured, especially for folks who need dementia care, Parkinson's care, continence help, or even spoon feeding as time goes on, and when people want to get out of their rooms, there's a dining hall with three meals a day prepared by a chef, places like a theatre room, a salon, wellness spa, and game room, plus a library and computer access for those who like to keep their minds busy, and there's a sense of community since residents can keep small pets and also join family or resident councils to have their voices heard, with regular group activities, transportation for doctor visits, music events, and daily exercise classes to break up the week. Residents choose from one-bedroom suites or studio units, which are set up with things like Wi-Fi, air conditioning, cable TV, a kitchenette, phone, and in-room bathrooms that are ADA compliant, so folks with walkers or wheelchairs get around safely, and there are safety systems throughout, like emergency call buttons, a full sprinkler system, and locked doors for memory care, while the outdoor gardens, balconies, and walking paths let those who can go outdoors enjoy a bit of sun. For physical health, there's pain, cardiac, diabetes, and wound care, with physical, speech, and occupational therapy available as needed, and those who need longer nursing home stays qualify since Hosanna's certified for both Medicare and Medicaid, and has worked under those programs for 28 years under for-profit ownership. The property handles laundry, pays for utilities, and lets families pay through insurance, private sources, or government programs, and has a history of health inspections like any skilled facility, with detailed nurse staffing logs and a long record of following state and federal rules. Residents and families get access to counseling and ongoing support, and while the community's been fined in the past, there's always someone awake to respond to issues, and nurses stay on the floor most of the day. Altogether, this spot gives seniors a chance to have needed skilled nursing, safety measures, and social life in a quiet part of Greenville County, and stands out by offering a wide set of therapies, activities, and staff with real experience in both health and daily care, and doesn't mind pets, which is always nice if someone's bringing a small friend from home.
Excellent short-term PT, lingering odors
I loved the staff and the physical therapists - short-term PT was excellent. But on a longer stay the place felt like a nursing home: cleanliness was poor and lingering body and urine odors from common incontinence were a big problem.
