    Beautiful facility, but inconsistent care

I toured and moved my mom here and I like the bright, beautiful facility - large rooms, pet-friendly, good location and many engaging activities. The staff are warm, hardworking and genuinely caring, and the chef-prepared meals are often excellent (though food can arrive cold or be hit-or-miss). Memory and assisted programs can be very good, but high staff turnover, an unfilled director role, occasional medication/communication mistakes and sales/price-pressure worry me. Housekeeping and maintenance are generally okay, and administration has shown some recent improvements, but expect uneven care - I'd recommend with caution and lots of questions.

    About Fairview Park

Fairview Park sits with three wings for residential assisted living, offering 90 beds, some with kitchenettes, private suites, and semi-private rooms, and all the rooms seem pretty spacious with large bathrooms and walk-in showers for easy access, and the maintenance staff are good at practical jobs like mounting TVs on the wall, which a lot of folks appreciate. There's a separate, controlled-access memory care wing with private common areas for those who need more security and specialized memory care programs, and the staff in that area provide 24-hour care for residents with dementia or other cognitive conditions. The community works with Heartland Hospice, so hospice care's available, and skilled nursing and medication reminders are part of the health services, so people who need more support get it, plus they handle the regular things like assistance with bathing, dressing, and other daily activities.

They prepare three chef-made meals every day with nutrition in mind, and a registered dietitian is part of the meal planning, so choices for diabetic and low salt diets are there, and people can eat together in the dining room or have room service if they want more privacy; there's even freedom of choice with dining and private dinner hosting for special occasions. The building has a laundry room, daily housekeeping, a sunroom, and outside courtyards, plus activity rooms, a beauty salon, transportation for errands and shopping, a physical therapy room, and entertainment sites like a games room, sports bar, fitness center, and a theater they call the Emory Theatre. There are activity professionals and an activity director on staff who run life enhancement programs focused on keeping residents busy both physically and mentally, with clubs, events, and classes, and the staff also help coordinate social services, although sometimes people have noted problems with follow-up and communication.

Residents can bring pets, but there are some restrictions, and options for independent living, assisted living, and memory care cover a wide range of needs in the same community, all under one roof, which can make it easier for couples with different care needs or for someone who wants to stay in place if their health changes. The community uses all-inclusive pricing, so everything from basic care to amenities is included without added fees. Staff are available 24/7 and handle personalized care plans for each resident based on their specific goals and well-being, with nurses on staff part-time and kitchen staff planning nutritious meals for everyone. Fairview Park holds license CRC-1887.
