WyndRidge Health & Rehab Center stands as a non-profit nursing home and rehabilitation center with a 157-bed capacity where they've been serving Cumberland County since 1960, and while they hold a B-minus inspection grade as of October 2023, they've also been flagged for abuse in the last year, which is important for families to know up front, since not everything is always perfect in these places, and their ratings in different categories have gone from D to A over time but never an overall A or B grade, so it's better to look at each category when reviewing their care. They've got both a resident council and a family council, accept Medicare and Medicaid, and offer long-term as well as short-term stays for folks recovering from surgery, illness, or injury, including respite care and memory care for people with Alzheimer's or dementia, with trained staff offering skilled nursing and intermediate care services around the clock. The place doesn't have CCRC, but it does provide specialized services like medication management, nutritional counseling, and recreational therapy, and physical, speech, occupational, and respiratory therapies, as well as pain management, orthopedic rehab, and tracheotomy care, so they really do try to help people with different health challenges get stronger and regain their abilities. Registered nurses, LPNs, CNAs, and therapy staff are on hand, with inpatient and outpatient rehab programs available, and they're part of a campus that has The Center for Outpatient Therapy and Cumberland Ridge Assisted Living, which means people can get different needs met in one location. Memory Care at WyndRidge has a secure setting with alert systems for exits and safe outdoor areas, which is something to consider for anyone worried about wandering, and they try to address physical, emotional, and mental health through holistic and personalized care plans made with doctors, therapists, and counselors on their team. They also offer homemaking and transportation services, along with health support the whole day, making sure folks can get care whenever it's needed. WyndRidge works to meet the physical, environmental, social, and spiritual needs of their residents, keeping the focus on dignity and self-respect, and while they've gotten some recognition for their standards in nursing and rehab services, it's still important for families to look at all the current state reports and visit to get their own feel for how things are run, but overall, the center does cover a wide range of services for folks needing support in both the short and long term.

Compassionate staff, serious safety issues
I have a mixed experience: the therapists, nurses, CNAs and most staff were compassionate, attentive and gave excellent rehab, personal care, clean rooms, good meals and a home-like atmosphere. But care was inconsistent - I witnessed poor hygiene, locked doors at night, police/ambulance calls, patients with bedsores (even stage-4), and a runaway resident - serious safety lapses. Because of those incidents I can't fully recommend it unless you visit, ask hard questions, and closely monitor care.
