    Caring staff, homey, some issues

I moved my loved one to Brookdale Kingsport and overall I'm pleased. The place is clean, homey and the staff are exceptionally caring, professional and available (24/7 nurse on site); they made the move quick and stress-free. Apartments are comfortable with small kitchens, walk-in closets and patios, and the dining room is inviting - though food quality and menu variety can be inconsistent and allergy/food issues have occurred. Programming (bingo, gardening, classes, church) is abundant but sometimes uneven, and there are occasional staffing/management and billing hiccups. Despite that, my family sees improvement in health and happiness and I would recommend it.

    About Brookdale Kingsport

Brookdale Kingsport sits on a hill with views of East Tennessee and gives seniors several options like independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care, so people can find the level of help they need from active social living to round-the-clock support. The staff welcome pets, though there are rules about the size of dogs or not allowing big birds, and the team checks references, driving records, and makes sure employees understand ethics. Residents get help with medication reminders, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and moving around, and there's always staff on hand, day or night, seven days a week. The place gives housekeeping, laundry, linen changes, and general counseling, and there's transportation for shopping or doctor visits, with a nurse on staff part-time for health needs and physical or occupational therapy right in the building. The rooms feel homey, with choices between furnished and unfurnished, private bathrooms, kitchenettes, walk-in closets, and cable or satellite TV.

Around the grounds, you'll find gardens, walking paths, and a courtyard, and inside there's a beauty/barber salon, a library, lounges, and plenty of spots to gather. Folks meet in the dining room for restaurant-style meals that can suit special diets like diabetic, low fat, or vegetarian. Some like joining music groups, crafts, spiritual services, tabletop games like cards or Bingo, arts, literary events, and even horticultural activities, while others prefer taking it slow with walks in landscaped areas or time in the library. Brookdale Kingsport handles religious programming and VA Aid Assistance, and you can choose your own pace with daily activities or something quieter. Memory care, called Clare Bridge at Brookdale, has special spaces and staff for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, making sure those residents have security and a sense of belonging. The game room is full of board games, card tables, and a TV for movies, while the fitness room offers equipment and wellness programs for those who want to stay active.

Guests can park in the lot, and controlled entry, emergency call systems, and internet/Wi-Fi help keep everyone safe and connected. Home-style meals, outings, and entertainment like gospel singing and hobby clubs mean there are always things to do for all interests. The community provides nursing and rehabilitation help, home health care, adult day care, and other senior services, with tiered levels of personal care so each person gets what works best. Staff respect privacy and individuality, but they greet everyone kindly and help foster a homelike atmosphere. Residents can pay with credit cards if they'd like, and the peaceful setting and friendly staff who stop to say hello make it a straightforward place for seniors in Kingsport, TN, who need anything from a little company to complex nursing support, all backed by the long-standing Brookdale name.
