    Welcoming, affordable care with caveats

I chose this place for the all-inclusive, predictable pricing, large rooms and nice grounds - family-style meals were good and it felt welcoming to families. I found the staff genuinely caring (Sonya runs the place well) and many residents are well looked-after and loved on. Be aware it's an older, budget-minded facility that's often understaffed with limited clinical coverage, occasional medication/meal hiccups, COVID interruptions and a few safety quirks, so my experience was positive overall but variable.

    About Heritage Assisted Living

Heritage Assisted Living sits at 144 Felix Rd in Knoxville, Tennessee, in a quiet, safe neighborhood, and folks who live there get help with daily tasks if they need it, like getting dressed, bathing, or keeping up with their medicines, in a place that tries to keep things gentle and supportive, especially for those living with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or dementia. There are 24 rooms in the building, with studio and semi-private apartment options, and every room comes with utilities included, so you don't have to worry about setting up electric or water on your own. The community serves three meals every day, with snacks and drinks available, and folks talk about the good old down-home cooking you'll find there. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services are part of what they offer, so seniors don't have to fuss with chores, and they can get their hair cut or styled right at the on-site salon shop, which sits on well-kept grounds with outdoor patios and gardens for fresh air or a bit of sun. Heritage provides scheduled activities like group exercise, classes, or social events to help people stay connected, and there's also a spot indoors for visiting, games, or just chatting with friends. They offer both physical and occupational therapist visits, so if someone needs a little help moving about or getting stronger, that's available, and they line up rides for medical appointments and will help arrange other transportation too, which is handy for folks who can't drive. Heritage has an all-inclusive pricing structure, so most everything's bundled together, and folks get support from a well-trained, compassionate care team known for treating people with kindness, dignity, and respect. The law protects against discrimination, including for LGBTQ individuals and for different sources of income, so everyone gets treated fairly. There's no fancy extras about high-rise views or luxury amenities, but for seniors wanting friendly help, a simple homey setting, and a steady routine that feels familiar, Heritage Assisted Living has a long-standing reputation in Knoxville for doing things the right way and making sure residents feel cared for.
