    Warm, caring staff; excellent activities

I placed my mom here and overall I'm very pleased: it's a warm, home-like, immaculate facility with attentive, compassionate staff and skilled nursing/RAs who treat residents with dignity. The food is excellent, activities are engaging (music, entertainers, animals, field trips, monthly themes) and PT/OT is proactive - my mom looks forward to events and I have real peace of mind. It's pricier than some areas and there have been occasional communication/admin hiccups, but the consistent, caring team makes this a place I can recommend.

About The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence, Lenoir City

The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer's Center of Excellence in Lenoir City sits on a quiet ten-acre campus and focuses on memory care for seniors with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia, offering specialized programs like The Lantern and the Meaningful Day program that help people find purpose and dignity in their daily routine. This single-story, secure memory care community has a home-like feel, with cozy resident rooms, comfortable common areas with wicker chairs, soft lighting, fireplaces, and a garden for walking or quiet moments. Staff at The Lantern know about memory care, listen to each resident's preferences, and use person-centered care plans and daily activities to fit each individual's needs, interests, and life experiences, whether the resident needs help with daily activities, medication management, or more specialized support for early to moderately severe memory loss.

Residents can expect 24-hour care from trained caregivers and licensed nurses who keep watch on health, wellness, and medication, working closely with doctors and families, reviewing care plans regularly, and organizing therapy options like physical, occupational, and speech therapy right on site. The Lantern's approach means residents have help with bathing, dressing, meals, and more, but also get chances to join in daily life enrichment, social events, movie nights, live entertainment, walks, and volunteering. Staff provide regular opportunities for intergenerational activities with local students and organize group outings and community projects, letting folks keep busy and stay connected to the world around them.

Meals are nutritious and change with the seasons, with different options at every meal, and the private dining rooms and activity rooms give residents and families a warm, inviting place to gather. The building's layout is easy to follow and designed to keep people secure and safe while encouraging as much independence as possible. The Lantern is located next door to Morning Pointe of Lenoir City Assisted Living, so it's easy to move between levels of care on the same campus if needs change.

Amenities include Wi-Fi, housekeeping, laundry, a beauty salon, activities director, and an emergency call system. Community transportation makes getting to nearby medical centers like Fort Loudoun Medical Center or Cherokee Health Systems easy, and the location near I-40/I-75, parks, and lakes like Avalon and Tennessee National means family and friends can visit or take part in outings without trouble. The staff, many who have worked there for a long time, keep up with ongoing training in memory care, making sure people receive steady and informed support.

The Lantern maintains an emphasis on safety, dignity, and meaningful activity, supporting each person's strengths and routines, and holds a strong average resident rating, which points to steady satisfaction among families in the area. Pricing starts at about $4,900 each month and goes up depending on room choice and care needs, with studio rooms available and plenty of community amenities to support quality of life for residents with memory concerns.
