    Caring staff but inconsistent staffing

I'm glad I chose this facility - the caregivers and nurses are kind, attentive, and treat residents like family; rooms are roomy and clean, the memory-care design feels secure, the food and grounds are nice, and medical care is generally excellent. That said, staffing is inconsistent (weekends and nights can be thin), CNA turnover and occasional poor incidents (falls, missed care, laundry/damage, billing hiccups) were real concerns. Overall I was pleased and would recommend it, but I'd advise checking staffing ratios, incident history, laundry/billing policies, and activity availability before you commit.

    About Emory Ridge

Emory Ridge sits in a quiet, country setting up in Powell, Tennessee, just north of Knoxville, spread across 2.78 acres with open, peaceful outdoor space, and you'll see big windows letting in lots of light, plus rocking chairs and places to sit outside if you want fresh air. The community offers memory care, assisted living, independent living, and adult day care, all under Inspirit Senior Living, which is a recognized name in the senior care field. You'll find a mix of private, semi-private, and studio apartments, all designed with safety and comfort in mind-single sinks, mirrors, and bright lights in accessible bathrooms, kitchens, and closets included in most layouts, and there's always an effort to make things feel open and familiar so nobody gets lost or feels boxed in.

There's a real focus on caring for each person in a way that fits what they need, and the staff does things like help with daily tasks and medicines, prepare home-cooked meals, and keep up with laundry and housekeeping. Group exercise classes, arts and crafts, music, movie nights, ice cream socials, holiday meals, church services, therapy dog visits, outings to parks or grocery stores, all add to the social life, and you've got community rooms, a library, lounges with comfortable chairs and TVs, dining areas, and a salon for getting your hair washed and trimmed with good sunlight coming in. Staff is there around the clock, along with on-site doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacy services, and help with physical, occupational, or speech therapy when it's needed, plus lab work and x-rays can get done on site too if someone's not feeling right. Memory care residences are secure and made for those needing routine and extra attention, especially folks living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and the memory care includes personalized plans that look at each person's background and needs, focusing on dignity and routine and building small moments of daily joy.

There's stuff like the SAGE® PROGRAM, Care Your Way, and Taste of Inspirit, plus a membership directory and a finder service for locating what suits someone best, and the regional enhancement team working behind the scenes, aiming to support the wider community's growth and wellbeing with talent development, economic opportunities, and strong community ties. People can pick their rooms before moving in, and all the regular needs-housekeeping, cable, Wi-Fi, phone, personal care, event programming, and healthy meals-are part of the daily life here, and there's respite care and short-term care if that's what's needed, too. Instead of big promises, what you get at Emory Ridge is a steady, safe, relaxed setting with support from a team that tries to get to know each resident, keep them as active and connected as possible, and help their days go smoothly as they age.
