Wood Presbyterian Home sits at 520 Old Highway 68 in Sweetwater, Tennessee, and has served Sweetwater and Monroe County since 1957, offering many care options for older adults like independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation therapy, long-term nursing care, and short-term recovery stays, all under a non-profit setup owned by Ocoee Foundation Inc and managed by Twin Rivers Health & Rehabilitation LLC since June 2022. The campus is a Continuing Care Retirement Community with over 80 suites and 89 certified beds, averaging around 65 residents per day, and keeps more than 45 skilled staff members who provide daily help with things like medication, bathing, dressing, transfers, and daily activities, offering support from 12-16 hours of nursing to 24-hour round-the-clock supervision and a 24-hour call system for residents. Rooms offer private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, Wi-Fi, furnished options, air conditioning, and telephones, and the apartments come fully renovated with options for patios and spacious living quarters. Wood Village is a special care center on the grounds, featuring private accommodations, and amenities across the property include a library, indoor walking track, exercise room, craft room, sunroom, garden courtyard, arts room, game room, fitness room, spa and wellness room, and outdoor programs like walking paths and group exercise. Community life fills up with things like resident-run activities, music programs, daily scheduled events, movie nights, arts and crafts, and both community-sponsored and resident-planned gatherings, while the dining room with a professional chef serves meals restaurant-style, with menus for diets like diabetic and allergy-sensitive, plus services for laundry, dry cleaning, move-in help, housekeeping, transportation, and parking. The home brings in podiatry, counseling, and rehabilitation services including occupational, speech, and language therapies, and also manages medicine delivery, security, maintenance, group purchasing programs, member benefits, and resources for aging, disaster recovery, independent living, and dementia-friendly care, making sure residents can keep their independence while getting professional care when needed. The site has a CNA training program focused on long-term care professionals and hosts news, events, clubs, and conferences like the Fundraiser's Forum and the Ecumenical Conference, supporting education and local ministry, with a job board available as well. Wood Presbyterian Home sets nurse staffing at 3.39 nurse hours per resident per day with a nurse turnover rate of 30.4%, aiming for consistent care, but records show some issues-recent state inspection reports found problems with timely care plan reviews, prompt reporting of suspected abuse or neglect, improper use of physical restraints, and one infection-related deficiency, all of which are matters the management, which includes an Executive Director and Board of Directors, seems to be working on. The facilities offer skilled nursing, intermediate care for frail residents, hospice, home health, and adult care home services, along with security measures, library access, walking trails, a hair salon, and counseling, setting up a place that tries to balance care with the comfort of home without promising perfection.

Clean caring staff, service gaps
I'm pleased with the very clean, odor-free facility, friendly and caring staff (social services is great), on-site nursing/three levels of care and timely meds - my mom has a pleasant room, made friends, and gets help with walks, laundry and shopping. Drawbacks: activities are limited and meals can be bland or arrive cold, and call responses/doctor visits are sometimes slow. Overall I recommend it for cleanliness, caring staff and nursing options, but expect some service gaps.
