    Great therapy, concerning nursing shortages

I love the bright, homey atmosphere here - clean, attractively-decorated, great food (huge vegetarian portions), terrific PT/OT, daily therapy and fun recreation that really enriches residents' lives. I also found the staff warm, caring, and service-oriented - maintenance, therapists, and many CNAs and aides were tireless and respectful. My biggest concern is nursing: chronic shortages (I was told 25-30 patients per nurse), poorly trained/unprofessional nurses at times, an insensitive Director of Nursing, and incidents that led to poor outcomes and even an ICU admission. Leadership and admin are mixed in my experience - some very helpful, experienced people who resolve issues quickly, but I'd verify ownership/VA status and current nurse staffing before trusting long-term medical care. Overall a wonderful, veteran-friendly place for therapy and activities, but with serious nursing-staff risks to consider.
