    Caring staff and facility issues

I placed my mom here and she settled in quickly - the facility is beautiful, clean and comfortable, and the CNAs, med techs and memory-care staff are kind, professional and truly went above and beyond. She's happy and the services overall are better than other places we looked at. Be aware ownership is changing and there are occasional issues (dogs barking, hallways sometimes with urine/feces, food not always hot and the ice cream machine rarely works), but the caring staff make a big difference.

    About Crescent Senior Living

Crescent Senior Living is a two-story community in Sandy, Utah that helps people with assisted living, independent living, memory care, respite care, and hospice care, and they've been recognized for quality with the 2021 Silver Award for Quality Care and the 2022 Pinnacle Customer Service Experience Award, you see, and when you walk in, you'll notice spacious lobbies with high ceilings and big windows letting in lots of light, while the place is set up with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments that come in different sizes, from cozy spaces at 262 square feet all the way up to larger homes at 864 square feet, with some units having kitchenettes, living rooms, full kitchens, cable, Wi-Fi, and closet space, and everything is unfurnished so families can bring their own things, and there's both private and semi-private rooms for memory care residents.

The building welcomes pets, but only medium-sized ones, so folks with cats or mid-sized dogs are happy to know there's a garden and walking paths outside where you can take them, and there are well-lit hallways with calm earth-tone floors, seats here and there when someone needs a break, and artwork to make everyone feel more at home, especially on the memory care floor, where residents get special help from trained caregivers in the Namaste Memory Center, which uses Montessori Moments in Time™ and Life Inspired daily programs, so every day there are activities like arts and crafts, games, movie nights, gardening, music, performing arts, social events, and outings, and if someone enjoys reading, there's a memory care library with comfortable nooks and chairs for peace and quiet.

People living here get help with meals, bathing, dressing, medication, and any daily tasks they can't do alone, and nursing staff are always present, while a personal alert system means someone can call for help at any time, which gives families a bit of peace, and there's equipment and planning for fall prevention, along with controlled building access, escorted walks, and staff trained in dementia, chronic disease care, and overall safety.

Dining happens in a bright, warm dining area set up with wood tables and chairs, and there are different choices like restaurant-style meals, snacks, or room service, with options for people with special diets, and the residents even help develop the menu if that's something they like, and sometimes meals are served for guests when families visit, which can really make a difference during holidays or special times.

The amenities cover just about everything people might need, with transportation to appointments and shops, a gym, business center, barber and salon, a cozy movie theater, recreation rooms for cards and billiards, a business center, mail and copy services, veteran's aid, laundry and housekeeping, linen service, pest control, maintained gardens, patios, water features, and covered parking with accessible spots, plus scenic views in many common rooms, and for those folks who want to worship, there are religious services right at the facility.

Crescent Senior Living keeps things flexible, with reference-checked staff who go through in-person interviews, and they're always focused on making the move easier and helping each person settle in, while ongoing activity programs are set up to help with wellness and social life, and if someone needs therapies-whether it's occupational, physical, speech, psychotherapy, pet therapy, or validation therapy-it's available right on site, and support groups and therapy rooms are there for those who might feel a bit lonely.

People with walkers, wheelchairs, or more complex mobility needs get special accommodations, and there are transfer services and non-ambulatory care for residents who need extra help, and for those with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or other forms of dementia, the memory care program focuses on structure and safety but also encourages independence where possible, and there's a real effort to keep the environment calm with artwork, soft colors, and spacious, inviting living spaces.

The grounds outside are made for strolls in the fresh air, and inside, there are movie nights, arts rooms, a community kitchen, library, and common areas with comfy seating and large TVs, plus good internet so people can stay in touch with family, and mailboxes for their letters, all while the staff helps with financial planning if someone's got questions about paying for care.

Crescent Senior Living stands in a quiet but lively area near restaurants, shops, parks, theatres, and good hospitals, and the best thing about the place is that care isn't "one size fits all," since the staff tries to match support to each resident's wants and needs, whether it's for a short stay or long-term living, with activities, friendships, and help available every day, and, all in all, it's a community designed so seniors can be a bit more independent and a lot more comfortable as they age.
