    Beautiful, homey, caring, supportive, imperfect

I placed my mom here and overall I'm glad I did - the building is beautiful and home-like, staff are warm, caring and go the extra mile, memory care is supportive, and there are plenty of activities that keep residents engaged and happy. I feel peace of mind seeing friendships form and attentive leadership. Not perfect - we've noticed occasional staff turnover, slow call-light responses, some cleanliness/bathroom issues, and inconsistent food - but the compassionate care and safe, family atmosphere make this a place I would recommend.

About Sunridge Assisted Living and Memory Care

Sunridge Assisted Living and Memory Care sits in West Jordan, Utah, at 7037 S 4800 W, and you'll find the place keeps things simple and homelike, all on one level with 50 assisted living apartments and 15 memory care apartments ranging from 340 to over 550 square feet, so people get a choice of studio, single room, or two-bedroom spaces in assisted living, or studio apartments for memory care, and they also offer semi-private and private nursing rooms if that's ever needed, which helps because sometimes changes come as folks' needs shift over time. Many people enjoy using the well-kept grounds and outdoor areas or seeing their pets close by-it's a welcoming place, with walking paths and outdoor spaces that get used all year, and sometimes you'll see group walks or folks sitting together watching the seasons.

For care, Sunridge focuses on residents living with Alzheimer's and other dementias by building a secure environment where wandering is less likely and day-to-day routines feel comfortable and safe, and there's a big emphasis on helping people with memory loss feel purpose and dignity. They have trained Alzheimer's caregivers and a staff who know how to watch for confusion or needs, and low staff-to-resident ratios mean folks get more attention. Caregivers, called Super Caregivers, handle dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and also moving around or using wheelchairs, with a focus on kindness and respecting each resident's independence as much as possible. Sunridge also has personalized care plans for each resident, so whether someone needs medication help, wound care, podiatry, occupational therapy, or just gentle reminders, that support is there, and they also handle incontinence care, end-of-life support, and scheduled daycare and respite for families who need a little help caring for a loved one.

Meals are served in a community dining room with plenty of choices, and the kitchen team makes sure meals are nutritious and, when needed, tailored for health requirements or special diets, all so folks can feel their best. There's Wi-Fi everywhere, rooms for games and crafts, a fitness room, a salon and barbershop, and common spaces like a bistro, library, and a multi-purpose room, where a packed calendar of social activities, education programs, arts and crafts, health, and wellness classes keeps everyone involved if they want to be, and these programs help people stay mentally and physically active. Some neighbors join adult day services or respite care when they just need a bit of that social time or can't be at home for part of a day. Sunridge offers daily housekeeping, laundry, kitchenettes in rooms, housekeeping, maintenance, washers and dryers, along with a basic cable TV setup and internet, so all the basics are taken care of and people can focus more on what matters to them.

The property's all about safety and ease, with handicap access, sprinkler systems, a call system, and secured areas for memory care, so families feel a bit more peace of mind. There's scheduled transportation for doctor visits and outings, plenty of guest parking, and pet-friendly policies. Owners are on-site most days, and feedback says staff help create a friendly, helpful culture that's noticed by residents and visitors alike, which shows in Sunridge's past awards for activities and friendliness-folks tend to know each other by name, and staff stick around, which keeps the experience more stable and comforting for everyone who lives there.

As a local, community-owned place, Sunridge's focus is on combining a safe, bright, and clean home with purpose-driven programs and a strong sense of togetherness; families and residents can help shape care decisions thanks to a person-driven community center model. Amenities span not just what's inside the building, but also reach into connecting residents and their families to area resources for veterans, property tax help, caregiver support, heating and energy programs, and community meals, plus job and training options for older adults who might want to stay active with work or volunteering. With over 25 years' senior care experience and ties to other Sunridge locations like Layton and Roy, Sunridge Assisted Living and Memory Care stands as a steady, unhurried option for seniors needing independent, assisted, memory, or nursing care, always aiming to give people dignity, choice, and respect every day they're there.
