Harmony Hall Assisted Living has been in service since January 1, 1986, and sits about 5.7 miles outside Collinsville, Virginia, in a quiet spot with local restaurants like McDonald's and connections to churches such as the Southern Baptist Convention close by, so residents don't feel cut off from the outside community at all, and the owner, Mr. Ted Balabanis, along with the business management team led by Ms. Jennifer Bailey, Financial Director, keeps the place running smooth as both a retirement home and adult family home where you'll find a staff that's friendly, helpful, and joyful-a place where seniors stay busy, feel included, and mix independence with the supervised care they might need. The assisted living services give help with things like bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication, and there's a 24-hour call system in place so people feel safe at any time of day, and as part of health care for elderly folks, the medical team steps in when needed to offer support with health requirements and day-to-day routines, using personalized care plans for each resident instead of a one-size-fits-all approach. For those needing extra help, Harmony Hall Assisted Living provides memory care and specialized therapies for people living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and they do their best to reduce confusion and wandering so everyone feels comfortable. Furnished studio rooms offer choice with home-like comforts, including things like phones in every room, a dining room with both all-day and restaurant-style dining, and chef-prepared meals that can suit special diets like those for allergy or diabetes-plus add in amenities like a library, salon, gardens, and walking paths, and it's plain people can get outside for exercise or just sit in the shade without having to go far. Housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, and move-in help all lower the worries about chores, plus you've got a steady social calendar bustling with things like movie nights, group activities led by staff or residents, spiritual opportunities, and planned outings, so there's always a way to stay connected or meet new friends. Home care adds another layer of support for those who need it, and the building stays equipped for residents who use wheelchairs or need non-ambulatory care, making sure no one's left out. Everything circles back to that focus on making seniors feel valued and engaged, giving them choices, letting them keep up with hobbies or routines, and encouraging them to be part of the community, and with an average rating of 8 out of 10 from folks who've been there, Harmony Hall Assisted Living keeps putting effort into creating a place where seniors can both get help and hold onto their sense of self, making daily life a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Improved atmosphere; major safety issues
I'm glad to see happier residents, more activities, and much better food-those barbecue ribs and the updated dining room really shine. But I'm concerned about serious upkeep and safety issues: flooding and water intrusion, pest problems (cockroaches), crumbling building condition and no elevator or handicap access. The staff are sometimes helpful and eager to donate, yet I've also encountered rude, dismissive employees; the warm atmosphere is undermined by these maintenance and accessibility failures.
