    Impressive facility with excellent care

I toured this facility and was impressed - the staff and nurses are friendly and the PT/OT rehab is excellent. The tree-lined campus feels peaceful, residents seem happy, and the assisted-living and long-term care are solid - definitely worth considering.

    About Warm Hearth Village

Warm Hearth Village is a non-profit, nonsectarian senior living community in Virginia with several options for older adults, and people come here for independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and long-term nursing care, so you'll find people with many different needs, all on the same campus. The community has facilities like The Willows for Assisted Living Level Two, Kroontje Health Care Center for skilled nursing and rehab, Showalter Center for extra services, and the Karr Activity Center for social and fitness programs. The campus includes private and deluxe semi-private rooms, many with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, and residents can use a common room, activity room, sunroom, porch, private dining area, and outdoor spaces with walking paths, gazebo, and a garden, making it easy to get fresh air or spend time with neighbors. There's a fitness room, arts room, library, movie theater, and game room, so folks always have something to do, whether it's a music or arts program, movie night, or joining a resident-run activity in the Village Center or just a quiet afternoon in the library. The care here covers help with daily tasks-like bathing, dressing, and medication management, including 12-16 hours of nursing care, a 24-hour call system, and round-the-clock supervision, with memory care options for Alzheimer's and dementia right in a secure, home-like area. People can choose furnished rooms and get housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and meals prepared by a professional chef, along with snack and special dietary options. Residents have access to physical fitness clubs, home care through Warm Hearth at Home, planned programs, volunteer opportunities, a beauty and barber shop, and even the on-campus Treasure Trove Thrift Store, and they can easily get around thanks to transportation services. Warm Hearth Village takes pride in its close-knit atmosphere, where folks help each other and enjoy the benefits of small-town life, but with amenities you might expect in a bigger city, and the staff offers help and resources about caregiving, planning, legal, financial, health, and housing topics through a library of guides, books, helpful links, and connections to groups like VirginiaNavigator and VeteransNavigator, plus a huge resource directory of over 26,000 programs. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted, and families can find support services and decision-making guidance, as the community is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, and community volunteers are always present. With a capacity of 60 residents for assisted living and memory care, and priority access for other care options on campus, Warm Hearth Village provides a wide range of services in a peaceful setting, aiming to keep people comfortable, cared for, and connected to their neighbors and interests as needs change over time.
