Heritage Hall Dillwyn sits in a quiet place and has 60 licensed beds where people can choose private or semi-private rooms, with daily room rates set at $198 for private and $189 for semi-private, and the staff, led by Angela Moore and operated by American Healthcare, LLC, pays real attention to each person's needs, whether they're staying for a short time after a hospital stay, coming in for rehabilitation, or needing longer help with daily activities or memory care, including for residents with dementia, and you'll find the care is highly individualized with a small but devoted staff of about 65 people, and you'll notice they offer a family-like and home-like environment where the focus is on making everyone feel as comfortable as they can, with services covering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, continuing care, and specialized memory care, and those who choose to rehab here get access to a full rehab gym and respected therapy programs like physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, plus newer treatments like vital stim and specialized trach care, all using electronic medical records to keep things organized and make care more thorough, and if you're someone who likes activities, there's a packed calendar-arts and crafts, group movies, discussion groups, visiting performers, intergenerational programs, outings, and community-sponsored events to keep people engaged, while there's also a library for quiet reading, a wellness center, a beauty and barber shop, and outdoor spaces like a garden and patio for fresh air, and transportation gets provided for trips out or errands, so if someone needs spiritual guidance, they can find pastoral support, and if caregivers need a break, respite care is an option, and because safety comes first, they use security systems for people who might wander, plus electronic systems for records and modern therapies, and the place's care has received awards for quality, and people from the community, including volunteers, often help out to support residents, and families can visit and take a tour to meet staff and see things firsthand, while the goal is always to treat every resident with compassion and respect so they can maintain as much independence as possible, and meals, medication management, and personal assistance all get handled with skill, and above all there's a steady feeling that this place values excellence, integrity, and a warm, secure sense of community for everyone who lives there.

Compassionate staff but staffing issues
I appreciate the compassionate, attentive clinical and administrative staff - Terry, Paula and Lisa have been especially helpful - and the clean, well-kept facility with good activities, outings, therapies and personal services. However, I've also seen troubling lapses: apparent understaffing, residents not checked/turned regularly, hallway odor/flies and inconsistent accountability. Overall the care is generally strong and I feel comfortable leaving my mother, but staffing, oversight and costs need improvement.
