Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows sits out in Laurel Fork, VA, and you'll find it's a nursing facility and a skilled nursing facility, sometimes folks just call that an SNF, and there are 60 licensed beds here, so it's not a big, crowded place, but there's usually a steady hum of activity with people coming in for short-term care, others settling in for extended stays, and plenty staying on for long-term care; you might find the semi-private rooms here cost $170 a day and the private rooms cost $180, which helps folks decide what they want, and there's always a focus on person-centered care, so the team really tries to meet everybody's specific needs, whether someone's there for a short recovery or wants to make it their new home. The place is part of the Virginia Health Care Association and the Virginia Center for Assisted Living, so it follows state rules, and the place meets the emergency preparedness standards you expect from a Virginia facility, which just means they have plans and equipment in case something goes wrong. There's a full staff that includes full-time physical, speech, and occupational therapists, which is helpful for folks working on getting stronger after illness, injury, or surgery, and that's something you don't see everywhere, and you'll see a friendly bunch with about 63 full-time staff folks working there, so there's always someone around if you need a hand. The place handles 19,446 patient days a year, which is a number facilities keep track of for care and planning, and the rooms are set up for comfort, so nobody's cramped. Residents can expect amenities that make daily living easier, like healthcare on site, support with daily tasks, and simple things to make it feel a bit more like home, nothing fancy but enough to be comfortable. Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows offers care types that depend on the person-short-term skilled nursing and therapy, long-term care, or extended care if someone wants to make it their permanent residence. The place is run by Administrator W.C. Darnell, and you can read more about the facility, arrange a tour, or see updates on their website or Facebook since they try to keep families informed. It's really about giving folks options and making sure there's care for whatever comes up, so folks can get what they need without having to leave the community.

Caring staff; top-notch rehab, concerns
I'm very pleased with this facility - bright, spotless, and run by caring, respectful staff who treat residents like family; therapy/rehab, dietary and activities are top-notch and give real peace of mind. My concerns: call lights are sometimes unanswered, I've seen pills crushed and occasional improper lift use, plus non-licensed caregivers and spotty nursing follow-up during care planning; leadership is responsive when contacted but lasting change is inconsistent. Overall I would recommend it for rehab or long-term care - the staff go above and beyond.
