    Compassionate care, clean welcoming facility

I received compassionate, friendly, and committed care - nurses, CNAs and therapists helped me regain strength, recover pain-free, and made real progress. The facility is clean, welcoming and family-friendly with great activities and meals, so it felt like home. There were occasional staffing, housekeeping, or communication hiccups, but overall I highly recommend Dr. Gray and her team.

About Pulaski Health & Rehabilitation Center

Pulaski Health & Rehabilitation Center sits in Pulaski, Virginia, and has 102 licensed beds for residents who need nursing home and rehabilitation care, and while the center's licensing comes from both the Virginia Department of Social Services and the Department of Health Professions, it's run by a business management team led by Administrator Mr. Richard Williams and Administrator Christina Wiley, with support from full-time licensed RNs, LPNs, an RN MDS Coordinator, and a Unit Manager who all help oversee daily care and operations, and you can tell they keep a close eye on things because they don't use contract staff-their team is there full time for the folks living and recovering there. The place is part of Medical Services of America and works alongside Pulaski County folks and is near Lewis Gale Hospital, making it easy for families to visit and for residents to have access to local medical resources. Pulaski Health & Rehabilitation Center provides both short-term and long-term services, with a big focus on recovery from things like heart attacks, strokes, and knee or hip surgeries, and they use their LifeWorks Rehab® Recovery Program-things like the Recovery Map™ and Personal Report Card™-to create a plan for each patient and show them how they're progressing, which some people find helpful when they want to see how they're doing. The facility has a state-of-the-art gym with therapy equipment and makes therapy available up to 7 days a week for 2-3 hours per day, adjusted to each person's needs. Residents get help with things like dressing, bathing, cooking, and managing medication, and the center also provides inpatient rehabilitation that covers various medical needs, including specialized programs for recovery after surgery or accidents, and they make plans before people arrive with a pre-registration process and a First Steps Planning Guide to help families and new patients settle in more smoothly. Pulaski Health & Rehabilitation Center doesn't have BBB accreditation, but it is listed as a quality provider in Virginia and posts its activities on Facebook. Staff receive comprehensive benefits, including health and dental insurance, paid time off, extra holiday pay, 401k with company match, a daily pay option, and CNA classes through a partnership with New River Valley Community College at no cost for materials, and currently the center has about 81.3 full-time staff. They do have both private rooms at $301 per day and semi-private rooms at $271 per day, letting people choose what works for their budget and needs. The facility's LifeWorks Rehab plan and their skilled nursing care set-up are designed for folks who need lots of support during recovery or for the long run, which means there are always options for people bouncing back from planned surgeries, sudden illnesses, or accidents as well as those settling in for longer-term care, and the center tries to keep a supportive, community feeling while covering necessary health needs. More information sits on their website, www.pulaskihealthrehab.com, and most folks say the variety of medical services-including physical, occupational, and speech therapies-meet a wide range of patient needs.
