      Inconsistent care despite compassionate staff

I appreciated the compassionate, friendly staff, a positive director, enjoyable meals, reasonable price and excellent transport - several caregivers were outstanding and handled a difficult client well. However, the house is older and care was inconsistent: some staff lacked dedication, dentures were misplaced, meal assistance and hydration were spotty, and residents with dementia were often ignored, kept in front of the TV and treated impatiently - for that reason I cannot recommend it.

      About Home Sweet Home I

Home Sweet Home I hasn't shared a lot about itself, but you can see it offers different options for seniors who want independent living, assisted living, or need extra help through residential care homes, hospice, or respite care. Home Sweet Home I is a residential care facility for the elderly, managed by Purple Door, LLC, and the place is pet-friendly, so folks can bring their animals along if they like. The staff includes medical professionals, like nurses, doctors, and therapists who visit regularly, and trained workers are there around the clock to help with things like bathing, grooming, dressing, medication reminders, and other chores, plus they set up personalized care plans and help out with non-ambulatory, high acuity, diabetic, and incontinence care, so you'll get attention based on your health needs. They have wheel-chair accessible private and semi-private apartments, each one with its own bathroom, and showers are set up to make things easier if someone uses a wheelchair. The community serves three meals a day, offers snacks, and can make vegetarian and some Kosher choices as well, along with special diets if a doctor says you need one. Housekeeping, laundry, and on-call salon service are there, so people don't need to worry about keeping up with chores or grooming on their own. You'll find both indoor and outdoor common spaces, a spacious patio, and a living room for relaxing, socializing, or playing quiet games, and they put together a full calendar of activities to help keep everyone active, whether it's for the mind, the body, or just enjoying each other's company, plus there are devotional services on site for people who like a little spiritual time built into their week. Residents can use complimentary transportation for appointments or outings, and the place sits close to bus lines so family can visit. Home Sweet Home I also helps families with short-term respite care, hospice services, and support for those needing memory care or more involved medical help, so people usually find they get the comfort and support they want, whether for a short visit or a longer stay.
