About Marieta's Mission Personal Care Home

Marieta's Mission Personal Care Home sits in a house with a well-manicured and welcoming exterior, and has space for up to six residents, so everything feels a bit cozier here than in larger places, which some folks like because it means the staff really get to know who's living there, and it's easier to keep track of individual needs. The building's set up with safety and easy movement in mind, including wheelchair accessible showers, handicap-friendly details, and both studio apartments and communal living spaces. Residents can pick from private or restaurant-style dining, and all meals are included with kosher and vegetarian options if needed, plus there's a café, healthy snacks throughout the day, and a private dining room for family or special events, and anybody who's worried about diet restrictions or likes low sodium will find the menu covers that sort of thing, too.

The home has plenty of extras like a garden and nicely kept courtyard, a gazebo and a sunny sunroom, plus a library, chapel service, and a pretty big swimming pool, which is a bit unusual for a small senior setting, and there's a fireplace with a comfortable sitting area for visiting with friends or relatives. The living area is shared, so it does feel like a group home. People who like to stay busy can join arts and crafts, fitness and "stay fit" classes, and other organized social or educational programs, both inside and off-site, or just spend time outdoors if they prefer. Pets are allowed, though there are a few restrictions.

Residents get help with daily activities as much or as little as needed-things like getting dressed, bathing, hygiene, or even spoon-feeding if required, and staff are trained to support folks with Parkinson's disease or memory issues like Alzheimer's or other dementia, including falls management and incontinence care. Medication management is provided, with regular health checks, nursing on-site, and staff available 24 hours a day, along with support from case managers and an on-site pharmacy. Medical services include dental care, podiatry, hearing, diabetic care, and they'll work with hospice if needed. A massage service and beautician (and a barber shop, too) are on-site, since a haircut or a little pampering can boost morale. The staff also offer personal outreach and education for families, and tailor each person's care plan after assessment, so there's a little flexibility to fit different needs and interests. There's an emphasis on a calm, supportive, and stress-free group home setup, and residents can use the community kitchen, garden spaces, and the well-stocked library whenever they like, and complimentary transportation for groceries or appointments is available, as well as parking for residents and guests.
