I appreciated the genuinely caring, compassionate staff, lively music program, daily walks/van outings, good food and excellent location near Balboa Park - residents generally seemed happy and well looked-after. That said, the building is older with small rooms, narrow hallways and some accessibility issues; cleaning and laundry service can be inconsistent, there have been unpleasant odors and staffing shortages, and communication/response times sometimes lag. I was also troubled by reports of pressurized donation solicitations by staff, which left me uncomfortable. Overall solid care and activities, but pricey and not the right fit for us without careful vetting.
