    Excellent care, expensive, staffing concerns

I would give Glenaire six stars if I could. My dad lived here and my mom is now in Medical Assisted Living after a stroke - the nurses, CNAs and rehab team are patient, professional and genuinely caring, admissions (Amanda) was wonderful, and the continuum of care, amenities (pool, gym, multiple dining venues), activities and beautiful, well-kept campus are outstanding. It's a classy, well-run place with great food and friendly residents, but it's pricey with a substantial buy-in and long wait list, so better suited to higher budgets. My one serious concern: staff are clearly overworked, underpaid and sometimes treated unfairly by management, and some bathrooms are dirty/restricted and need renovation. Despite those issues, I'm completely satisfied and plan to move there myself - overall an excellent senior living community.

    About Glenaire

Glenaire sits on a quiet 32-acre campus with lots of trees and gardens where folks can walk and take in the fresh air, and the place is set up as a Life Plan Community (LPC) so you get a full range of care like independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing homes, and that all happens right in the same place. This community is managed by The Presbyterian Homes, Inc. and it's got national accreditation, plus it's faith-based since it's part of Brightspire, so you'll find wellness and spiritual programs alongside the usual health and fitness ones. There are different places to live, like one- or two-bedroom homes and apartments, all with private bathrooms, walk-in closets, furnished kitchens, washers and dryers, storage spaces, patios or balconies, and cable/satellite TV-which helps folks live life the way they're used to. All rooms in assisted living and skilled nursing are private, and Glenaire also runs its own Adult Day Center called The Glade, which offers structured care for people with early stages of dementia and other age-related problems. If you want help with daily life, there's personalized care like bathing and grooming, medication help, physical therapy, exercise groups, speech therapy, and nutritional support, and you get 24-hour emergency help for peace of mind.

The campus is designed for easy living: there's weekly housekeeping, laundry, landscaping, internet and Wi-Fi, and 24-hour maintenance, so things stay tidy and working, and transportation and services help people get around for shopping, appointments, or recreation. For meals, Glenaire has restaurant-style dining in several venues, so residents get meals daily without having to cook if they don't want to, and there are beauty salons and barbershops on-site, which keeps things easy when it comes time for a haircut. Activities are on offer too-like movie nights, fitness classes, faith gatherings, games, billiards, a card room, social events, outings, and programs to help folks stay active, connected, and happy. Glenaire lets you bring pets, and there's covered parking, garages, a pool, walking paths, bank on-site, and library. It also runs a full health clinic right on campus, and it's Medicare certified. People can get adult day care, assisted living, independent living, nursing and rehab, and even home health care, all under one roof. Contracts here are modified and cover the residence, many services like meals and housekeeping, and some health-related care at lower or even no cost for a certain number of days, with different ways to get your entrance fee refunded (a declining refund, and 50% or 90% refundable options) if you ever need to leave.

Glenaire requires residents to be at least 62 years old, with co-applicants at least 58, and offers several payment options-a monthly fee ranging from $3,174 to $6,620 and an entrance fee from $81,000 to $949,000, and people can find more detail about what's included on its website or by calling for more information. Glenaire stands out because folks can move in while they're independent, get more help as they age, and even stay on the same campus with people they've gotten to know, and since the care ranges from light support through advanced nursing with lots of programs in between, it works for many kinds of needs as the years go on.
