    Warm, active community with issues

I live at Trinity Oaks and feel right at home - the staff are warm and caring, the food is excellent, and there are abundant activities, trips, classes, pool/gym and well-kept apartments that keep residents active and social. Management was transparent during COVID and the community feels safe, family-like and supportive, though it can be pricey and I've noticed occasional staff responsiveness/bullying issues that should be addressed. Overall I'm very happy with my decision and would highly recommend it.

    About Trinity Oaks

Trinity Oaks is a senior living community licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health Services, where people can find different living and care options such as independent living, assisted living, memory care, and home care, and folks who live there can join book clubs, go to music groups, try dance classes, or sign up for a spot on one of the softball teams, plus there are arts and crafts, trips, and parties planned throughout the year to keep everyone involved and active, whether you like things fast-paced or more laid-back because Trinity Oaks tries to fit each person's lifestyle the best they can. They have care programs with their own special names for different needs, and staff, including nurses and therapists, are around day and night, seven days a week, always ready to help with emergencies or daily things like bathing, dressing, transferring, and medicine. There's a Supervised Independent Living Group Home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the whole place, which has shifted over the years-used to be called Lutheran Home and Trinity Oaks Health and Rehab-now operates as an affiliate of Lutheran Services Carolinas, aiming to empower residents through Christ-centered care but focusing on anyone who needs support.

Some people come for short-term rehab, where professionals provide speech, occupational, respiratory, and physical therapies, and pharmacy and referral services are there as well. The building's set up so folks feel safe, with safety and handicap features, a sprinkler system, and 24/7 help if something comes up, and everyone has access to game rooms, Wi-Fi, guest parking, a fitness center, a salon or barbershop, and a dining room where meals are made to be both nutritious and tasty, snacks and drinks included, plus options in private suites with kitchenettes that feel a bit like home. Housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance are handled by staff, and cable TV is available in the rooms. People with long-term care insurance can use it for their care, and personal care assistants help when needed.

There's also a focus on health and wellness, offering classes and organized activities, with some led by local college students, and the community works to include everyone by creating a place where residents feel like extended family, with therapists and caretakers who show genuine kindness, always checking on folks' happiness and comfort. Events, classes, and outings are planned to keep minds and bodies active, and memory care as well as assisted living services support those who need extra help with memory problems or daily tasks. Private assisted living suites and a separate dining room give some added comfort, and meals here offer a lot of choice with similar menus as residents in independent living. With its Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) status, Trinity Oaks aims to support people as their needs change without having to move somewhere different, and the entire approach is to deliver care that fits each person, with enough activities, safety features, and support so people can feel secure, welcomed, and as independent as possible in their later years.
