    Beautiful caring community but pricey

I moved my mom here and overall I'm glad we did - the building and grounds are beautiful, spotless, and welcoming, staff are kind and very caring, and the place is lively with lots of activities, outings and restaurant-style dining. The community offers maintenance-free independent living with easy access to rehab, assisted-living/skilled care if needed, a gym, common areas and good clinical staff who give real peace of mind. Downsides: it's expensive, pricing and deposit info can be opaque, dining quality is inconsistent (Bistro is extra) and admin responsiveness/communication varies. I'd recommend touring in person and asking detailed costs and menus before committing.

About Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community in Thomasville, NC

Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community in Thomasville, NC, covers 61 acres with well-kept lawns, gardens, and friendly neighbors, and folks can choose to live in cottages, villas, or apartments, all with comfortable floor plans and plenty of sunlight. The cottages and villas have at least 1,300 square feet, plus sunrooms and private porches, while the apartments offer one or two bedrooms, up to 1,100 square feet. People pick either independent living for fewer worries and more freedom, or assisted living if they need help with daily things like bathing, dressing, or managing medicine, and there are also private rooms for those choosing assisted living, where three meals a day, housekeeping, and activities come included.

Residents get supportive services on-site, which means help is close by when health needs change, and couples with different care needs can still live together. Piedmont Crossing offers a full range of care, from short-term and long-term skilled nursing to memory support, therapy services, and even home care through Piedmont Crossing at Home, which brings help right to residents who want to keep living more independently. Folks with memory problems, including Alzheimer's or other dementia, have access to memory support programs-these include special activities for mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical engagement, and staff works with each resident's needs.

The community has a Life Enrichment Program with many social events, recreation, and entertainment to keep people connected and involved, and the campus has indoor shared spaces for gathering, along with outdoor options like walking paths and porches. The fee-for-service model lets people select which services or meals they want, giving a little more control over how they live and what they pay for. Chef-prepared meals focus on taste, nutrition, and quality ingredients. Therapy services cover physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and there's also access to home health and hospice care when needed.

Spiritual needs get attention too, with devotional activities offered on-site, and all around, the staff stays attentive and trained to provide care, support, and assistance with extras like housekeeping and daily tasks. Piedmont Crossing is a licensed Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), owned by EveryAge, which used to be called United Church Homes and Services, with over 35 years of experience as a trusted retirement living choice in North Carolina. While the grounds look beautiful and the atmosphere stays lively, the real focus remains on helping older adults enjoy purposeful days, plenty of laughter, and a place that feels like home, no matter how care needs might change down the road.
