    Good short-term questionable long-term care

I had a mixed experience. On the plus side the staff and therapy teams were caring, professional and responsive, the facility is beautiful, clean, and activity-rich with private rooms and smooth admissions. On the downside I saw inconsistent care - understaffing, lapses in hygiene and meals, safety/security and communication problems - so I'd trust it for short-term rehab but would closely monitor long-term placement.

    About Arbors at Fairlawn

Arbors at Fairlawn offers different levels of care for older adults, including assisted living, memory care for those with confusion or wandering risk, and skilled nursing for people needing ongoing support. The community allows you to set up tours in person or by FaceTime, and you can see what life looks like or ask questions before deciding to move in. The facility's owners are Ark Opco Group, LLC, and Noble Healthcare Management, LLC has been running things since 2015. The staff at Arbors at Fairlawn focus on restoring health, helping residents do daily tasks, increasing independence, and making sure everyone feels comfortable. A licensed nurse is always in charge on each shift, and care staff help with bathing, dressing, medications, and other needs around the clock, so there's always support. They accept Medicaid and Medicare, which can help some people pay for care.

The community has policies to prevent discrimination and follows a code of ethical conduct, as well as both state and federal healthcare laws, and there are safety rules aimed at preventing falls and accidents in common areas. There are infection-control steps to help stop illness from spreading, but inspection reports in the past have noted some issues with care, nursing, and physician services, so it's good to ask about those.

People who live at Arbors at Fairlawn have access to comforts like private bathrooms, cable TV, kitchenettes, telephones, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and rooms with furniture already in them. There's a concierge to help with requests, plus services for cleaning, laundry, and moving in. Meals are made by a chef and you can eat restaurant-style all day, and there are special meals for allergies and diabetes. For activities, the community offers a movie theater, games, crafts and arts rooms, a library, a spa/wellness room, fitness area, and scheduled programs like movie nights and music. Residents can walk paths or relax in garden areas, and transportation is available. Residents can join in social activities, and sometimes start their own groups or events.

Arbors at Fairlawn falls under the category of Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), which means people can get different levels of help over time, without having to move. Some folks stay for the long-term nursing care, while others come for short-term rehab after surgery, such as hip replacement. Therapy services and rehabilitation are available as needed, and the facility keeps care focused on each individual's needs at each stage. Staff members treat residents with dignity, kindness, and provide companionship and medical care, aiming to keep everyone as well as possible. The place does get compliments for being clean and full of nice people, and it tries to make the environment peaceful and comfortable for everyone. The community belongs to a group of Arbors communities spread across different cities in Ohio, and people can look up more details on its website, see what it costs, or explore photos and reviews, or fill out forms to ask for more information.
