    About Otterbein Granville SeniorLife Community

Otterbein Granville SeniorLife Community sits on 94 acres about a mile southwest of downtown Granville and brings a peaceful village-style layout with nice, shaded walking trails-including the Northside Walking Trail and its own Level I Arboretum that's home to 95 species of trees-giving folks plenty of room to wander and enjoy nature right outside their doors, and if someone's looking for more activity, there's a heated indoor pool, fitness center, art studio, woodworking shop, putting green, bocce ball court, billiards room, and even a two-acre pond. The community offers maintenance-free living so snow, lawn, plumbing, or HVAC problems are handled, and there are housing choices that range from apartments to cottages and villa-style homes with full kitchens, carpet or wood floors, washer and dryer, and space for personal comforts, plus some homes welcome pets. There are independent living options for those who want freedom, but folks needing assistance can find skilled nursing, memory care, and even a secured memory care unit for Alzheimer's or dementia; the Health Center runs on a person-centered model and offers private rooms, 24/7 nursing, long-term care, a full range of therapies, and rehabilitation with outpatient services possible too. Otterbein Granville runs as a nonprofit and has been around since 1912, sharing a tradition of care rooted in respect, stewardship, commitment, and community, and stays true to those values through supportive programs, volunteer options, and a strong focus on personal interests and friendships-there are over 30 resident-run committees that set up life enrichment programs including educational lectures, lifelong learning, concerts, outings, creative workshops, group fitness classes, volunteering, and social gatherings, and the culture encourages people to be as active or reflective as they like. Meals are served in a fine dining area with selections by the culinary team, and services like housekeeping, wellness checkups, transportation, and an emergency call system come standard for safety and everyday support. There's a community center, a fiber arts studio, a ceramic studio, a library, gathering rooms for movies or music, a salon, and a pub, and people who want to give things a try can use the "Try It, You'll Like It" program for a temporary, fully furnished stay first. Agreements for residents include different care options and entry fee refund plans, and the on-campus care covers independent and assisted living, memory support, skilled nursing, post-acute care, and even respite care if needed. With main hours during the week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Otterbein Granville makes room for every kind of lifestyle, and the whole place is set up to let folks live as independently as they want while getting personalized care as their needs change, so it really does feel like a supportive small town more than anything else.
