The Christian Village at Mason covers more than 75 acres with tree-lined drives, lakes, fountains, and walking paths, so folks see a lot of peaceful green spaces and can get outside when they want, and it's got a big 5-acre stocked lake for those who like to fish or just sit by the water on a nice day too. The place has both independent living Garden Homes for a maintenance-free life and assisted living Garden Apartments where there's help if needed, while nursing care, memory support in the Guardian Center, skilled nursing care in the Serenity Center, short-term rehab in the Grace Center, and hospice care are all on the same campus, so if people need more or less care over time, they don't have to move away from their familiar home or friends which can really help older adults feel comfortable and settled. It's a faith-based, nonprofit community owned by Christian Village Communities and rooted in a Christian Heritage with spiritual activities like chapel, Bible study, choirs, quilting, and church services, and you'll find special events like Father's Day and Flag Day, craft and car shows, concerts, and various exhibitions scattered through the year for residents and their families.
There are indoor common areas where people can gather, a dining room with meal services so residents don't have to cook, and the staff prepares restaurant-style meals with options for special diets such as for diabetes or allergies, which is important for folks with health requirements, plus there are private bathrooms, kitchenettes, air conditioning, cable TV, telephones, Wi-Fi, and furnished rooms in the living spaces. The campus holds a fitness room with equipment, a game room, library, movie theater, business room, arts room, spa/wellness room, barber and salon, and a woodworking shop, as well as a gift shop selling cards and small gifts, so there's quite a bit to do and ways to stay busy or social when you want, and there's outdoors too with walking paths, garden, and plenty of places to sit and visit.
Staff is available around the clock for emergencies and can help with things like housekeeping, laundry, move-in coordination, and some personal care, including standby assistance with transfers and help for folks who need help getting from bed to wheelchair or to the bathroom. They also help with things like blood sugar checks for diabetics, but residents have to self-manage their incontinence or give their own insulin injections if needed, though the team includes folks like the STNA/RNT, dining services director, and life safety consultant, working together for medical assessments and making care plans with family input, which helps make sure each person's needs and interests are met. The campus is wheelchair accessible and there's customer parking and restrooms onsite.
There's transportation arranged by the community for getting out to appointments, offsite devotional services, or just to local spots, and with regular activities like music, movies, fitness, resident-led clubs, and community-sponsored events, people get options to socialize if they'd like, and there's always something coming up for those who want to take part. With the continuing care retirement community model, including services under Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Nursing Homes, folks can age in place and keep a sense of home and belonging, and as of June 2025, there were 6 of 73 nursing home beds open for new residents. The Christian Village at Mason accepts Medicare and Medicaid, supports a wide variety of lifestyles, and works to help each person feel at home through a simple, caring approach called Service From the Heart. The whole place feels steady, rooted in its nonprofit, faith-filled background, with a focus on meeting not just physical needs, but social, cultural, and spiritual ones, and they're planning to add even more independent living at the Sunrise Vista area, so there's always something new on the horizon for the seniors who live there.
