    Warm staff, great meals, homey

I've lived at Hilltop Commons for several years and it's been a great fit - warm, professional staff who go above and beyond, excellent restaurant-style meals (often customized), and spacious, sunny apartments and common areas. The activity calendar, entertainment, transportation and social life keep things lively and make it feel like home. It's affordable and feels safe, with caring nurses, housekeepers and a terrific kitchen and maintenance team. It's an older building so expect occasional maintenance issues and slimmer healthy-food options, but overall I highly recommend it.

    About Hilltop Commons Senior Living

Hilltop Commons Senior Living sits among tall pines in Grass Valley, California, right near the historic downtown with easy access to the freeway, and you'll notice plenty of places to sit and visit, a big common room with a Grand Piano and a 71-inch flat screen TV, and there's always something to do out on the large patio or along the walking path or maybe working in the raised garden beds while enjoying the mountain air, and you'll find apartments in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts with kitchenettes, over-sized bathrooms, scenic views, pet-friendly policies, and each space includes emergency pull cords and self-controlled heating and air conditioning, because comfort and safety matter here. This two-story community offers independent living for those over 62, with services like housekeeping every week, restaurant-style dining where the meals are thoughtfully prepared by a chef, and free rides to shopping and doctor appointments. When residents need more help, there are assisted living services available, with support for daily activities like bathing, dressing, and medication reminders, as well as skilled nursing right on site for those who need more medical attention. For people living with Alzheimer's or dementia, there's a memory care area with special housing, care, and therapies in a space designed to reduce confusion. At Hilltop Commons, you'll find a fitness room, fireplace, another big TV, lots of community events, excursions into town, and a full calendar of social, physical, and creative activities that help people stay engaged. Seniors who prefer to stay at home can get non-medical help and companionship through home care with aides. People here talk about the friendly staff, who work hard to keep things welcoming and warm, and the awards for Best of Senior Living and Best Activities reflect that. Independent living here suits active people looking for a hassle-free apartment, while the memory care, skilled nursing, and assisted living give support as needs change, so whether you're out in town, relaxing on the patio, joining music around the Grand Piano, or just watching the sunrise over the Sierra Foothills, you can tell that Hilltop Commons was set up to make life safe, social, and comfortable.
