    Unsafe dirty building; poor management

I lived here and would not recommend. The community room is nice, but I dealt with bed bugs and roaches, poor cleanliness, inconsistent pest control, a long-standing AC leak that was never fixed, and an unusable laundry room. Management was rarely present and dismissive of complaints; I felt unsafe because of unsolicited visitors and suspected drug activity on site, and the fire alarm failed during a past incident. Activities are minimal (bingo once or twice a month) and one floor houses noisy college students.

    About Rose Tower

Rose Tower, sitting at 137 Rose Street in Lexington, Kentucky, stands as a high-rise property with 168 units built back in 1974, offering both market-rate and Section 8 senior apartments aimed mainly at those 62 years and older or with disabilities, and while you won't find assisted living services here-since it doesn't meet Kentucky's legal definition for that-folks do get affordable or conventional housing choices, with a mix of studio and one-bedroom layouts sized between 160 and 450 square feet, all featuring one bathroom, air conditioning, hardwood floors, and walk-in closets, plus some have been newly renovated and all are smoke-free. The place welcomes pets, though cats and dogs need to stay under twenty-five pounds, and the community is friendly to both seniors and people with disabilities but has no fully accessible units, though there is an elevator to help get around, and laundry can be done on-site. They throw in all utilities-heat, water, trash, sewer-and have PTAC units for heating and cooling, which keeps things simple since bills are rolled into the rent, and parking's available either off-street or in regular surface spots, so visitors and residents have a place to keep their car while coming and going.

Rose Tower offers several places for folks to gather, like a community room, clubhouse, and billiards room with a pool table, along with a fitness center, laundry facility, and a beauty shop for haircuts, so there's enough going on for people who like to socialize or want an easy place to meet neighbors, and a media room lets residents watch movies or shows together. Every apartment has appliances included, and the management team is known for being responsive, which matters when you need a repair-maintenance is on call around the clock to fix things as they come up. The building belongs to the Central Kentucky Apartment Association and has a strong community membership; you can see it's regularly maintained and gets attention, with reports on rental rates, sales, loans, unit features, property history, and amenities available if you look at their detailed property records, so anyone curious about specifics will find a lot of info out there.

The nearby area is nice, too, being just a 15-minute walk to the University of Kentucky and Rupp Arena, and it's close to banks, shopping, restaurants, and plenty of local entertainment, making it easy to get out for errands or a meal, especially since there's a good mix of businesses and community spots nearby. The property keeps a vibrant community vibe and aims to simplify daily life for residents by having all these common features and services, and the apartments themselves are said to have spacious interiors with different floor plans to fit various tastes, though specific details on each layout aren't always available in the reports. Rose Tower does have some unique services and offerings related to legal affairs, printing of all types, including digital business cards, flyers, shirts, and even oil and gas work in the region, though most folks know it for its long-standing reputation for being a solid, pet-friendly place for seniors or disabled residents, with extras like on-site laundry and all utilities included to make life a little bit easier day to day.
