    Comfortable social affordable independent living

I moved here and overall it's been a great decision - the building is well-maintained, packed with amenities (pool, craft room, gym, dart room, dog park, free fancy coffee) and a strong resident-led social scene so I'm not lonely anymore. Staff are pleasant and helpful, maintenance is responsive, and rent includes most expenses; apartments have large kitchens and there are weekly doctor visits. It's not assisted living (no meals, no housekeeping), there's only one elevator which can be an accessibility issue, and some appliances/laundry machines feel cheap. Pets are welcome (be aware of allergy risk and large ESAs), and resident cliques/drama exist; staff can be less proactive with residents who need more care. Overall I'd recommend it - great value and community, but weigh the accessibility and care limitations.

    About Homestead Village of Miamisburg

Homestead Village of Miamisburg stands as a 55+ senior apartment community with several options for independent living, assisted living, memory care, and home care, all under one roof that covers about 110,000 square feet, so when folks look for a home with various levels of support, they can find what they want here, whether they need help or not, and the building has 130 units, a big project with a $14.5 million value, so you know they've put in some effort. Residents can pick from four floor plans, like a 1-bedroom/1-bath starting at $1,340, a 1-bedroom deluxe at $1,500, or a 2-bedroom/2-bath at $1,600, so there's some choice depending on what someone needs or can spend, and each apartment gives a hassle-free place to live that anyone would find comfortable. The staff brings some unique touches, like Village Ambassadors who help people make friends and feel at home, and they've given special names to certain programs and areas to make things easier or special for residents.

Awards like Best of Senior Living and Most Friendly in Senior Living say people have recognized what they provide, though no place is ever perfect. The community runs different support services that help keep people connected, and community hours do depend on each location, as Homestead Village has more than one spot in various cities, so you might find different things in each place. For those looking for walk-in tours, they allow that, so anyone can get a feel for daily life, dining, and activities before making any decisions, which seems helpful for prospective residents.

Meals focus on nutrition and quality ingredients which is important for maintaining health, and amenities go beyond the basics since there's pet-friendly policies, handicap accessibility, and high-speed internet, so residents aren't left behind in terms of needs or connection. Within the community, there's an indoor village filled with places to gather, walk, or relax, including fitness centers, green areas, and walking paths, which promote an active lifestyle, while resident services can be reached through a portal that makes things a bit simpler for handling requests or needs. The social calendar stays packed so there's always something to do, whether it's a casual get-together or a more organized event, which helps folks keep busy and make friends as much as they like.

Specialized care exists for people with Alzheimer's and dementia since the memory care area helps reduce confusion and stop residents from wandering, and assisted living options give help with things like bathing, dressing, and medication, the things some people might start needing. Home care is also available, and trained aides can bring companionship or help with non-medical tasks in your own place, so even those who aren't living onsite can still get some support. Everything's licensed in the state, so the community meets required standards by law. The mix of apartment options, attention to active living, and variety of services make Homestead Village of Miamisburg a spot where folks can age with some help or just enjoy a social independent environment for as long as they want.
