    Very happy with caring staff

I'm very happy with Terraces at Fountain Grove - the staff are friendly, professional, visible and attentive, sensitive to my mom's needs, communicative and responsive; the meals and setting are excellent. My mom seems happier and not declining as rapidly as before. Occasionally caregivers have been inattentive (staff on phones) and water wasn't delivered, but overall it's a caring, excellent place.

About The Terraces at Fountaingrove Lodge

The Terraces at Fountaingrove Lodge sits on a scenic campus in Santa Rosa, California, overlooking the Fountaingrove Country Club Golf Course and open space, surrounded by walking paths, gardens, and views. The community, sometimes called Oakmont of the Terraces, is built specifically for people living with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments, so everything from the building layout to the safety features has memory care in mind, including secure areas and door handles designed to prevent wandering. There's a strong focus on safety and well-being with a full-time nurse, a medical director, and staff on duty 24 hours a day providing personalized support with daily needs, including help with bathing, dressing, medication, transfers, diabetes care, and incontinence, and technology like bracelets to help stop residents from getting lost.

Families find peace of mind knowing doctors, nurses, podiatrists, therapists, and pharmacy services come onsite, and that support spans a broad range-from gentle reminders to advanced care, all available as needs change. The smaller size, holding only about 33 residents, lets the staff know each person's needs pretty well, and residents can get hospice care or respite stays, with options for medium or heavy care and acceptance of people who wander or might act out physically. The community offers private or semi-private suites, studios, and apartments-each one can be personalized, and many of them are designed for comfort, ease of movement, and plenty of light.

Life here fits many kinds of people, including LGBTQ+ seniors, and pets are welcome, with a pet park and help with caring for cats. Folks can choose how they want to dine, with restaurant-style meals led by an executive chef and menu choices that cover special diets like gluten-free, low sodium, vegan, and more, plus private dining available for special occasions. The culinary team uses locally sourced ingredients, and the kitchen works to make meals both nutritious and flavorful. The cost for semi-private rooms averages around $6,295 and studios around $7,395, depending on needs and preferences.

Residents can take part in daily activities with a full-time activity director-music, art, group fitness like yoga, sensory programs for mind and memory, therapy visits, outings, trivia, lectures, gardening, even karaoke and wine tasting. The facility includes comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces, a spa, salon, library, movie theater, common rooms, a wellness center, and an aviary. Weekly housekeeping, laundry, concierge services, and transportation, including free rides to places like nearby parks, shops, hospitals, and cafes, help keep life running smoothly, and spiritual services are available for those who wish.

The Tradition Memory Care Program is a big part of The Terraces, with care tailored to every resident-some need more daily support, some need special help with behavior or mobility, and staff are ready for both. Emergency call systems connect residents to professional help at any hour. The community makes a priority of keeping each person's dignity and lifestyle, offering the support needed so people can age in place, surrounded by friendly faces and lovely views. The Terraces is part of Oakmont Senior Living and shares long-term planning resources, guidance for families, and a library of information, along with a gallery and testimonials from current residents and families.
