      About Visiting Angels

Visiting Angels has offered non-medical, in-home care to seniors, people with disabilities, and those recovering from illness since 2001 all around Marin County and the Greater Bay area, and the way they do things means they've set up a system where families can get a range of care from experienced, screened, bonded, and insured caregivers who are known as "Visiting Angels" or simply "caregivers," and these caregivers help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, toileting, medication reminders, mobility, meal preparation, house cleaning, and even grocery shopping and errands, and if someone needs companionship or a friendly face, they provide that too, along with emotional and spiritual support. The care plans get set up to fit each client's situation, so things like companionship care, personal care, dementia care, and short-term help are easy to arrange, and a registered nurse will do an assessment first at no cost or obligation to see what type of care would work best. The staff keeps in touch with families and medical professionals, and management is available all day and night for emergencies or last-minute needs, so families don't have to feel alone in the process if something comes up. Caregivers can work part-time or full-time, and they're from the local community, often holding certifications like CNA, LPN, or RN, and they get continued training, such as in First Aid or CPR, so they're ready to help with safety and health when need be. Visiting Angels doesn't do medical care, but they can support with things that work alongside hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living, physical therapy, and other agencies, and they're a state-licensed Home Care Agency, insured, and bonded, with services people can use in their own homes or in places like assisted living if a little more help is wanted. Families can get help with things like household chores, transportation, and even wheelchair van services if needed, and there's special support for those with dementia and for families who need some respite from daily caregiving duties. Visiting Angels has a friendly, approachable culture, and both the caregivers and office staff try to be helpful and caring, taking time to answer questions, explain services, and work with families to build ongoing relationships. The organization also provides direct links to resources and other community services, so if someone needs a hospital, hospice, or a different kind of living arrangement, there's a way to get the right referrals, and they've got local advisors to help sort through all the options. Visiting Angels wants to help seniors and others stay comfortable and independent at home, and that's been their mission for many years now, as they make sure each person gets care that feels personal and dignified, without having to leave the place they call home.
