    Strong rehab, severe staffing problems

I had a mixed stay. The facility is newly renovated, spotless, and quiet with a beautiful lobby, nice patio, easy parking, good therapy, caring CNAs, attentive daytime nurses and administrators, lots of activities, and generally tasty food and desserts. However, severe understaffing (especially nights) produced inattentive care, mishandled belongings (my phone was washed), inconsistent skin/medication oversight, and troubling discharge interactions (promised paperwork not provided and threats about APS/insistence on 24/7 in-home care). I'd return for the strong rehab team but only after getting firm assurances about staffing and documentation.

About Marlora Post Acute Rehab Hosp

Marlora Post Acute Rehab Hosp sits over on 3801 E. Anaheim Street in Long Beach, California, and it's been around since 2023, running as a privately held, mid-sized place with about 99 beds and a team of nurses, therapists, and aides who work around the clock, and you'll notice that they really do know most people by name and try to make each day feel a bit safer and easier. The place focuses on post-acute care, so folks come here after surgery or an illness when they're not ready to go home but don't need a hospital anymore-think short-term care, though there's some long-term options, but once that Medicare 90-day mark hits, they usually work with you on the next step. It's got therapy for a whole list of needs: physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are all handled on site, and the programs cover things like knee or hip rehab after surgery, stroke recovery, fracture and orthopedic recovery, contracture management, fall prevention, cognitive support, dysphagia management, and even caregiver education so family members can help out more confidently at home, and they're always trying to match the care plan to what every patient needs and what they can afford. The staff, which ranges from RNs, LVNs, nursing assistants, to licensed therapists, teams up with doctors and families to create treatment plans that fit each person's condition and goals, focusing on things like eating right, good sleep, daily exercise, and even exploring other health options when needed. You'll see a lot of checks on care quality, too-the team pays attention to what works and looks for ways to get better, and they want everyone there, from new arrivals to folks on their way home, to regain strength, stay comfortable, and feel supported in mind and spirit. Admissions is set up to help people day and night, every day, so getting started or planning ahead isn't hard, and the staff always seems ready to answer questions or check in to see how people are doing. All told, Marlora Post Acute Rehab Hosp focuses on helping seniors and other adults recover and get stronger in a clean, supportive, and caring setting, with skilled nursing and a pretty dedicated rehab team right here in Long Beach.
