    Beautiful facility, unsafe and evasive

I moved my dad here because the facility is beautiful, well-maintained, freshly painted and extremely clean, with excellent rehab close to home, caring CNAs and nurses, a fabulous director of nursing, strong PT/OT and an active activities program (even therapeutic bunnies and a landscaped atrium). Overall care and the rehab were very good and the price felt reasonable. However, communication and administration were poor and sometimes evasive - staff were unresponsive, the doctor felt impersonal, food was inconsistent, and a serious incident occurred when my dad fell without help. Worst of all, they admitted COVID-positive patients without telling families, my relative contracted COVID there, and their stall tactics afterward made me worry decisions were more about money than safety.

    About Mountain View Healthcare Center

Mountain View Healthcare Center stands in Mountain View, California, and has earned credentials and recognition in the healthcare industry with a focus on giving quality care and getting involved in the community, and sometimes folks talk about the center's calm, comfortable, and home-like feeling, which goes a long way for people wanting a steady place to stay. The center holds a license for Medicare and Medi-Cal services and serves as a contracted provider for Kaiser Permanente Plan members, handling a broad set of needs with skilled nursing care, a specialty orthopedic program, twenty-four-hour care, and a rehabilitation center-these let people with many health situations settle in with a care plan created just for them. The staff includes an Assistant Director of Nursing, an Occupational Therapist, and a Physical Therapist, and they work alongside others using an interdisciplinary team approach to cover all the basics like daily living support, nursing care, pain management, and post-surgical or post-acute care, and then there's a full-time Registered Dietitian who keeps an eye on nutrition and weight for the residents.

They serve up all kinds of therapies, including speech therapy, physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), enteral therapy, and intravenous therapy, and the big rehab gym with lots of equipment is a staple for helping folks work on their movement after illness or injury, and there's also a specialized Alzheimer's unit for those needing memory care. The 123-bed facility's got a mix of shared and private rooms and makes room for all the basics, but what some folks notice is the center's outdoor spaces-a well-kept entrance, a center patio with plenty of flowers and big trees, and there are walking paths around hedges and exotic flowers in the gardens, so residents and their families can enjoy some sun and fresh air on nice days. Residents get daily interest-based activities, recreation, and one-on-one time to mix with others or enjoy some quiet. Mountain View Healthcare Center works to keep standards up with personalized care plans, attention from skilled and highly rated staff, and plenty of chances for social experiences, making it a steady option for people who need skilled nursing or rehab in a familiar, local setting.
