    Good care despite organizational issues

I’m a stroke patient — I got proper stroke care and helpful therapy for my right arm and leg at Medilodge in Gaylord and I loved being there; I would choose it again. Many nurses were sweet and caring and the food often came in generous portions, but staff were disorganized, some nurses weren’t nice, call bells were slow and there was a medication error. Rooms were crowded (double occupancy in a very small room) and the hip‑rehab area felt like the worst part.

    About Medilodge Of Gaylord

Medilodge of Gaylord sits in Michigan and serves as a Skilled Nursing and Rehab Facility that aims to give comfort and care to its residents, and you'll find they do this in many practical ways because they focus on both Assisted Living and comprehensive healthcare services, so you'll see people stay there short-term for rehab after surgery, accidents, cardiac events, or strokes, and you'll also find others staying long-term for skilled nursing, and they manage all sorts of things like wound care, pain, oncology, dialysis, hydrotherapy, and Alzheimer's disease care, offering both inpatient and outpatient care options which really helps folks who need flexibility, and they back this up with a staff that includes nurses, therapists, dietitians, social workers, and even a respiratory therapist always on hand 24/7, plus they keep a close eye on daily medicine needs and health status to adjust care plans when needed, including weekly care meetings with families to keep everyone in the loop-there's a dedicated therapy department for offering physical, occupational, speech, and language therapies, and you'll find programs for ventilator care, renal disease, palliative care, wound care, post-operative support, and specialized Alzheimer's and dementia services, so people with all kinds of health issues can get what they need right there. Residents benefit from amenities like a gazebo, courtyard, chapel, beauty salon, and plenty of daily activities such as balloon games and bingo, helping with therapy and keeping people social, which really does brighten the days, and meals provided cover nutritional needs, while social services help with any extra support a resident may want. The rooms and common spaces are meant to be comfortable and uplifting, so people can feel relaxed while they recover or live there, and care is planned to help restore independence, improve movement, and offer a safe place to heal. The facility has a strong focus on comfort but always ties that back to practical health needs, so both short-term and long-term stays are possible, and you'll also hear that Medilodge of Gaylord holds a 5-star overall quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which says something about its standards. There's a real effort to include everyone, support families, and make sure daily life isn't just about medical care but about finding comfort in the details, like playing games together, enjoying fresh air in the courtyard, or visiting the salon. In a changing healthcare world, Medilodge of Gaylord tries to keep things steady, supportive, and as personal as possible.
