About Luxe Rehabilitation & Care Center

Luxe Rehabilitation & Care Center offers different levels of care with a focus on rehabilitation and skilled nursing for residents who need both short-term recovery and long-term care, and when you walk in, you'll see that they have private suites, big grounds with walking paths and gardens, and rooms that come already furnished, each with a private bathroom, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, which can help people feel a little more at home. They have a gym with special equipment for therapy, more than four treatment rooms, and over 4,000 square feet set aside for therapy services, including physical and occupational therapy, as well as programs for orthopedic, cardiac, and pulmonary rehab, so there are a lot of options for folks needing to get back on their feet. People staying here can use the chapel with 50 seats, go to the arts room, music programs, fitness room, movie theater, and game room, and there's a spa/wellness area, shopping trips, outings, and even event rooms for celebrations and social get-togethers. The center schedules daily activities, and offers both community-sponsored and resident-run programs, with some outdoor programs and garden time, plus they run regular movie nights and have an activity room for groups to gather, and then there's also a private locker for each resident.

The staff provides support with bathing, dressing, transfers, activities of daily living, medication management, and even back strain and pain management, and there's move-in coordination and housekeeping to keep things in order, so things usually run pretty smoothly. Meals are prepared by a professional chef, and if you need a special diet, they cover those needs too, and of course, there's a community emergency alert system, health monitoring, and a 24-hour call system. Luxe has 24-hour supervision, with nursing staff present 12-16 hours each day, and care is tailored for residents with serious medical or mobility needs, including people who aren't able to walk on their own. Some extra services include shopping and music programs, and there's help for residents who've had a joint replacement, so it's not too hard to find what you need under one roof.

But it's important to know that the center is a for-profit limited liability company with 172 certified beds and an average census of about 143 residents per day, and at last report, they had a staffing level of 3.63 nurse hours per resident per day, which is a little below the state average, with a nurse turnover rate of 80.7%, quite a bit higher than what's typical-statewide, the rate is 51%. Luxe Rehabilitation & Care Center is a Special Focus Facility Candidate, meaning there's a history of serious quality problems but no formal flag from the government yet, and in inspection reports, they've recorded 98 deficiencies, of which 3 relate to infection, along with citations for resident rights concerns like the facility not always keeping things as clean or homelike as they should, and at times, not letting residents fully participate in their own care planning, although there's been no actual harm found, just a chance that harm could have happened. The current management includes Staci Hall, David Oberlander, and David Whitt, as of November 2024. People considering Luxe should weigh both its wide selection of therapy, amenities, and support services, and its history of staffing and quality issues, to make the best decision for themselves or loved ones.
