Summit View Of Farragut sits in Knoxville, Tennessee, and offers skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care for seniors, so folks dealing with things like dementia can get help, and for people needing recovery from things like strokes or cardiac issues, there's a physical therapy center with its own team of therapists who work on mobility and health. The facility accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and many private insurances, including AARP - UnitedHealthcare, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, and Cigna, so there are multiple ways families can manage the costs, and they do work with financial assistance if people need it. The community includes 113 assisted living units ranging from shared apartments and studios to one-bedroom suites, some with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, and basics like cable TV, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi to help residents stay comfortable and connected, and emergency call systems are there to provide safety around the clock. Residents can expect furnished rooms, housekeeping, laundry service, dry cleaning, and move-in help, which takes away some of the stress for families, and the staff also provides medication management, bathing and dressing assistance, help with transferring, and support with daily living tasks, plus special services like falls management, mobility assistance, and options for toileting care. Registered professional nurses are on-site every day, and there's between 12 and 16 hours of nursing care, along with round-the-clock supervision and on-call nurses for emergencies, so high-acuity care and incontinence support are handled, and residents with conditions like COPD, end-stage cardiovascular or renal disease, and infectious diseases such as MRSA or VRE can receive specialized attention. The dining experience is restaurant-style with a professional chef preparing meals all day, and folks with diabetes or allergies, or those who need special diets, can find what they need, and there's even a private dining room for family visits. Summit View has outdoor walking paths, a garden, and outdoor sitting spots where people can enjoy the fresh air, and inside there are areas for fitness, arts, games, reading, movies, and group activities, so there's no shortage of things to do, and residents can even join in with pet therapy, music programs, spiritual services, and experiential therapies involving arts and recreation. Transportation and parking are available for appointments, social outings, or family visits, while services like a beauty and barber area, step-in showers, handicapped bathing, pharmacy delivery, and therapy for speech, occupational, respiratory, and physical needs round out the health support. The staff also helps out with things like concierge needs, hair grooming, and scheduling, plus family support services for those dealing with changes or loss, including bereavement support and pre-hospice counseling, and they provide hospice, palliative, and end-stage disease care for those who need extra help. There are scheduled daily activities, fitness and chapel services, a library, and a movie theater, while residents can take part in everything from arts and crafts to resident-run activities, and pets are welcome for visits. Security is always on, so safety is a big focus, and Wi-Fi lets everyone stay in touch or watch TV, play board games or cards, or read. For those with spiritual needs, there are religious services, and outings or therapeutic trips are organized to keep engagement high, and if someone needs podiatry, dental, or eye care, those services are available as well. Summit View Of Farragut provides a wide range of services and amenities aimed at making daily living easier for seniors with different care needs, in a setting that blends medical support, personal comfort, and chances for social connection.
Filthy facility, neglectful and unprofessional
I had a largely negative experience. My room was often filthy - overflowing trash, gnats, bad odor, missed showers and long delays for sponge baths - and basic care (toileting, diaper changes, meals) was minimal or cold. Staff were frequently rude, unprofessional, ignored requests, and communication/administration was poor; I saw unsafe situations, resident-on-resident incidents, and inadequate rehab. A few people (PT/OT/speech therapists, Alzheimer's unit head, activity director) were excellent and my roommate became a true friend, but overall I cannot recommend this facility.
