    Compassionate staff, clean but inconsistent

I placed my father here and overall I'm grateful - the staff (Beth Garcia stands out) are compassionate, present 24/7, well-trained, and the home is clean, warm, and well-maintained. Private, spacious rooms, accessible bathrooms, home-style meals, weekly Bingo, cable, visitors welcome and a gated pool made it comfortable. The house is older with a small great room and can feel busy; I noticed some care inconsistencies (bathing/meal issues reported), so I'd recommend it mainly for the outstanding staff but advise confirming routines and space first.

About Azalea Villa Assisted Living Center

Azalea Villa Assisted Living Center sits at 217 North Washington Street in Gilbert, Arizona, and this place is run by Purple Door, LLC, with room for 23 residents who need varying levels of care from skilled nursing to memory care. Folks like how the house is in a quiet residential neighborhood that used to be a convent, so the place just feels lived-in and homey, not much like the big facilities out by the highway. The staff and caretakers are around day and night to help with things like bathing, getting dressed, and making sure people take their medicine safely, and they've got folks who know how to help with diabetic care, incontinence, and even transfers when someone needs a hand getting up or moving between rooms. All private rooms come furnished with a bed, dresser, closet, and bedside table, and there are bathrooms with shower seats, raised toilets, and handheld showers so most folks don't have to worry about falling or struggling with the usual home stuff as they get older.

Azalea Villa has a few nice touches, like pet-friendly policies for those who want their dog with them, a large TV room with plenty of seating, and big shared and private spaces where people can play Bingo, talk, and have meals together, and the dining feels more like a small café with round tables than a big noisy cafeteria. Meals are home-cooked, and there's always someone around to help clean, do laundry, and keep the place tidy. Outdoors, residents can use the big side yard with shaded spots to relax, a long sidewalk for walks or wheelchairs, and a gated pool out back for safe fresh air, plus the front entrance has comfy chairs and papers with handy information. Azalea Villa lets residents join devotional services off-site and welcomes schools or groups into its living rooms for social events, which keeps the place lively at times.

The facility uses emergency call systems and keeps important safety information posted where anyone can see, and the medication is securely locked up, so families can feel safe letting their loved one stay here. Trained caregivers support independence and put together care plans for each resident, helping people feel like they still have say in their own life, whether they need diabetic checks, help with daily routines, or just want to talk with someone. Azalea Villa works closely with home health professionals on weekdays and adjusts services so each resident gets what they need-sometimes just respite care or a short-term stay, sometimes more long-term help. There's a strong sense of routine and community here, and residents usually find it's a friendly, steady place with enough going on to keep from feeling lonely, but quiet enough to feel calm and settled. Pricing and availability are shared on request, and the staff tries to make the move as easy as possible, giving tours and talking through housing choices with families who need guidance. Azalea Villa focuses on comfort, safety, and giving seniors some freedom and dignity as they get older.
