Warm community serious safety concerns
I like the friendly, compassionate caregivers, excellent food, busy activities and the hotel-like, downtown Mesa location - the social life, rehab visits and renovated rooms are real pluses. That said, chronic understaffing, high turnover and apparent poor training have caused slow call-button responses, medication/medical lapses and several safety incidents (falls, fights). Maintenance and management are inconsistent - I experienced six-week repair delays, elevator outages, water leaks/mold and even bedbug reports - and leadership often felt unresponsive despite a few strong directors and staff who went above and beyond. Apartments and bathrooms are small, dining can be inflexible, and limited on-site medical coverage means it's not the right fit for heavier care needs. Bottom line: warm people and great food/activities, but serious operational and safety issues you should weigh carefully.
