    Caring staff, coerced and overcharged

I'm happy with the loving, attentive staff, cozy clean facility, engaging activities, and a dedicated owner who goes above and beyond - overall high-quality care and I'd recommend it. However, I was coerced into moving by a social worker, wasn't informed of my rights or costs, was charged $6,000 for five weeks with no way to give 30 days' notice, forced to use the facility pharmacy instead of my VA benefits, and the meals lacked fresh vegetables and felt like post-surgery liquids.

About Sunny Days Senior Living LLC

Sunny Days Senior Living LLC sits at 1659 East Hale Street in Mesa, Arizona, as a medium-sized group home with about ten beds, and while it's fairly new, having opened in May of 2023, it's already known for having a cozy, clean, home-like environment where seniors can feel comfortable and supported, because dignity and independence really matter over there, it sure seems, with caregivers actually delivering services in a way that respects privacy and encourages residents to do as much for themselves as possible, though help is always close by twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, with live-in staff on hand for safety and peace of mind, and the place does allow pets and has Wi-Fi, which some folks care about, and there's transportation for appointments or local trips, plus parking when it's needed, and meals get made fresh on site, tailored for special diets, with dining that feels pretty homey, and laundry and housekeeping are services people don't have to worry about either, as staff handle those so things really stay clean and organized, and as for rooms, there are private and shared options, plus shared living spaces that feel more like a normal home rather than an institution, which seems to help people feel less lonely and more relaxed.

They offer a mix of care-from assisted living for those who need some help with daily activities but don't need full-time nursing, to independent living, to specialized memory care for folks with Alzheimer's disease or other kinds of dementia, and these parts of the house are structured to help keep people calm and lessen wandering, and there's always staff around familiar with memory care needs. The community keeps people active with activities and events, and family visits are always a big part of keeping people engaged, and that seems important to the way they run things, because feeling occupied is something they think about quite a bit, and while there are no details on awards or exact costs, reviews from residents and families seem to land right in the middle, generally about average, which some people could find reassuring and others not, but that's the truth of it. The owner gets described as dedicated, going above and beyond, and the staff sometimes get called lovely.

Some of those living here have needed help not only with regular daily tasks but also more advanced support, and they've got options from adult care homes to skilled nursing and even hospice through partnerships, and they're connected with places like Zoe's Assisted Living Home and Christina's Assisted Living, and with other Mesa area facilities such as Emerald Groves South and Mesa Christian Residential Care Center. People who move in can bring pets, use fast internet, and join planned activities, while things like medical alert systems and specialized phones for seniors are available for added safety and convenience. Sunny Days Senior Living LLC doesn't claim to be perfect or especially fancy, but it offers many services under one roof in a small, quiet community, and seems focused on making sure seniors get the care, attention, and independence they need, all in a simple house setting that doesn't feel overwhelming.
