    Neglect, equipment failures, unsafe care

I stayed 12 days and experienced serious neglect: feeding-tube malfunctions, improperly installed/leaking equipment, residents left cold with teeth chattering, staff walked out, and the nurse was rarely present - equipment failed daily and tech/nurse delays were common. Management refused an adequate refund and had falsely advertised feeding-tube/trachea capability. That said, some caregivers were kind, the home was clean, food was excellent and family-run, but for anyone with complex medical needs this place is dangerous and overpriced.

    About Golden Times

Golden Times sits in Surprise, Arizona, and quietly goes about its business as a place for elders who need some help with daily living, like bathing, dressing, or moving around, and the caregivers stay on site all day and night to keep an eye on things, which puts families at ease. Residents can pick from studio, single, or two-bedroom spaces, with the rooms having useful things like accessible features for wheelchairs, kitchens or kitchenettes, washers and dryers, cable TV, and safety features with sprinkler systems. There's a dining room where everyone can eat together, with meals made for many different diets, including options for those with allergies or diabetes, and folks can eat at set times or choose all-day dining when it fits their schedule, and the staff takes care of the cooking, serving, and dishes, so no one has to worry about that. The property has gardens, walking paths, a fitness center, salon, games and activity rooms, and plenty of space for residents to meet up and spend time together, making it feel like a real home instead of an institution.

There are a lot of activities planned throughout the week like movie nights, arts and crafts, educational classes, health and wellness programs, social gatherings, and on-site devotional activities for those who want spiritual connection, and everything's meant to help residents stay active in body and mind, whether someone likes a quiet walk outside or lots of friendly conversation indoors. Residents who can't get out and about on their own will find staff ready to help with wheelchairs or walker assistance, and there are help options for medication management, transfers, bathing, dressing, and incontinence care for those who need more support. Laundry and dry cleaning happen regularly, and housekeeping's included, so rooms stay tidy and laundry doesn't become a burden. Transportation and parking are arranged if residents want to go to appointments or outings, and for families who need a short break, there are respite programs for temporary stays. Security feels steady because of emergency alert systems and all-day supervision.

Golden Times works with long-term care insurance, and the care types include assisted living, memory care, independent living, and skilled nursing, as well as smaller adult care homes with space for ten or fewer residents, so some folks can live in a close-knit, home-like group where meals and activities get done together. Caregivers handle personal care and keep the atmosphere friendly while supporting medical needs, like diabetic or non-ambulatory care, and there's someone who can coordinate move-ins so that new residents settle in as smoothly as possible. The facility doesn't push fancy extras but does pay attention to safety, comfort, and daily support, making sure elders who move there can count on good meals, pleasant company, and help when they ask for it.
