    Spotless facility, inconsistent care, beware

I moved my loved one into a gorgeous, spotless campus with bright rooms, nice furniture, dogs, varied activities and some truly caring caregivers - when they show up. But I've been alarmed by high staff turnover, rude/unprofessional and often unresponsive office/management, poor communication (phone calls ignored, I've had to drive over to get answers), and inconsistent care between shifts. Memory care felt sad and under-resourced, advertised services were sometimes misrepresented, and basic issues (termite damage, missing linens/towels, a refused refund) went unresolved. There are excellent, compassionate techs and pleasant meals/activities at times, but overall I can't relax - families should be cautious and check AzDHS care reviews before committing.

About BridgeWater Assisted Living - Tucson

BridgeWater Assisted Living - Tucson has six separate villas all spread out over one level, which means folks won't have to worry about stairs. The apartments are private and come in a variety of floor plans, including studios, single rooms, two-bedrooms, private, and semi-private options, and they're air-conditioned with views of the outdoors and have cable TV, kitchens or kitchenettes, and some units have wheelchair-accessible showers. Residents can bring pets, arrange their living spaces with their own furniture, and enjoy a little patio outside each area, plus nice sidewalks for walking. There are both indoor and outdoor spaces for people to gather, like a landscaped courtyard, media room, billiard hall, activities room, and a dining area that looks very nice where residents get restaurant-style meals that can be tailored for special diets like low sodium or no sugar, and there's a snack area where coffee is served.

BridgeWater provides different living and care options, including independent living, assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or other dementia, nursing home services, respite care for short stays, and hospice care. Certified staff is on site around the clock, with nurses and a doctor on call, and special Community Benefits Advocates help support residents' needs. The facility supports daily personal care like bathing, dressing, toileting, medication management, laundry, and transfer assistance. There is regular housekeeping, maintenance, and a security monitoring system with a fire sprinkler system through the property for safety. Some rooms have wheelchair-accessible showers, and the property is all on the ground floor, making it easier for those with mobility needs.

BridgeWater Assisted Living offers social and recreational activities every day, with programs like chair yoga, arts and crafts, dance classes, and community outings, plus educational and health-focused events. Residents can get beauty and barber services, onsite homecare, onsite physical, occupational, and speech therapies, diabetic and wound care, podiatrist services, and general counseling. Memory care comes with its own programming and safety features like accessible design and safety handrails. Transportation services are available for appointments, shopping, and outings, and guest parking is available for visitors. WiFi lets people keep in touch, and there's strict no smoking in private and public indoor areas. The community allows both men and women, and they focus on creating a comfortable environment with options for "aging in place" so residents don't have to move if their needs change.
