Bee Hive Homes sits in a residential neighborhood at 1843 West 25th Street in Yuma, Arizona, and keeps things pretty straightforward with a home-like setting for up to 17 residents; they've got a layout and care services centered around comfort, safety, and familiarity, where folks can settle into private rooms-these come with or without furnishings, cable TV, a private bathroom with ADA shower, and some even offer patios or balconies if someone wants to sit outside on a nice day, plus they have couple's rooms available if two people want to share a larger space together. The staff remain on site 24/7, keeping an eye out for everyone, offering help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom, and folks always seem to mention how kind and joyful the team acts toward residents and guests. Bee Hive Homes designs their activities and routines to keep life active and interesting, whether that's board games, movie nights, creative programs, gardening outside, animal therapy, music therapy, or planned outings to keep people connected-there's always something on the calendar like exercise groups, social evening events, or simply enjoying conversation in the lounge or courtyard. Meals are home-cooked, served three times a day, and approved by a dietitian, with special adjustments made for folks who have diabetes, hypertension, or other special diets, and they let folks bring up dietary needs if something comes up. Residents have access to washers and dryers, internet and Wi-Fi, game and activities rooms, a fitness center, bookroom, dining hall, and access to all utilities, including telephone and bed linens, with daily housekeeping and laundry included so the day stays manageable. There's a beauty salon and barbershop on site, plus a jacuzzi, sauna or health room, secure outdoor courtyards, and maintenance services; transportation is coordinated for doctor's visits, errands, faith-based events, and outings to keep everyone mobile and as independent as possible. Safety features include a sprinkler system and other building upgrades, and care staff can help with medication monitoring, high-acuity care, two-person transfers, incontinence care, and even insulin doses, if needed and available. Bee Hive Homes offers respite care for short-term stays, adult day care, home care, and memory care for folks with Alzheimer's or other dementia, using therapies and environments to help minimize confusion and prevent wandering, and they'll do assessment to make sure every resident gets support in a way that fits their needs. They're a smaller community, which lets them focus on personal attention, and even though they don't have a nurse on staff at all times, a consulting nurse is available by phone 24/7, and they can bring in visiting doctors or home health services if someone needs extra care as directed by their doctor. People have options with different room sizes-studio, single, or two-bedroom-with monthly rates between $1,500 and $5,500, and the place tries to give everyone a sense of belonging and independence while serving those who need help and those who can manage mostly on their own. Bee Hive Homes also provides free consultations and includes some amenities like a concierge placement service and long-term care insurance options; their assisted living license is current through July 31, 2025, with License Number AL11586C, and the adjacent property is licensed for up to 13 residents, while related properties can serve even more if someone is interested. Residents are encouraged to stay as long as it's safe, and families can visit with flexible hours, all while design features and unique care models keep the community feeling like a real home.
Spotless small facility, caring staff
I'm grateful I found a small, spotless assisted-living with private rooms/half-baths, nutritious meals, daily activities and staff who are genuinely caring, attentive and go above and beyond. My family felt safe and loved here, but I've also seen worrying management/ownership changes, high caregiver turnover, some safety/privacy issues, and they don't accept Medicaid (private pay only). Overall I recommend for the wonderful caregivers and cleanliness-just verify current management, staffing stability, and payment options first.
