Camelot Residential Homes sits in a calm Bellflower neighborhood and holds a state license, number 198205266, with space for up to 20 residents, and there's always staff around to help day and night, especially with things like bathing, getting dressed, managing medicine, and helping those with mobility challenges or who use wheelchairs, while you'll find rooms you can decorate yourself with your own things so it feels homier, and folks here can count on three homemade meals a day with special diets handled for diabetes or high blood pressure, plus people always mention the food. Residents have choices for daily activities-movie nights, fitness classes, music, art, reading in the library, and organized outings, plus a computer room, a garden patio for outdoor relaxation, sauna or hot tub, community event spaces, and even a salon with visit options from a mobile or in-house stylist, and the staff really keeps up with keeping the place clean, helping with laundry, and giving that little bit of extra effort, especially for people with oxygen needs or MS. Transportation is available for medical appointments, running errands, or going to church, and the place makes it easy to get to places like Kaiser Permanente and pharmacies nearby, which is handy, and the price sits at about $4,513 a month, a bit below the local average, and there's a good amount of positive comments with a 7.3 community score from residents and reviewers. The care covers assisted living, memory care for those with Alzheimer's or dementia, respite service for short stays, and hospice for end-of-life, all organized with a focus on residents' comfort, wellness, and safety, and there's always staff around for unplanned needs or emergencies. People can join wellness and social programs to help stay active and meet others, and if someone needs advice or help planning their care, the team is able to step in. The atmosphere feels close-knit and comfortable, like a medium-sized home where the staff know the residents and strive to make them feel welcome and supported, and there's always a focus on giving people as much independence as possible while helping with daily needs, so everyone can try to enjoy each day in this residential care home setting.
Calm affordable RN-led care option
I toured this small, RN-led community for my dad and liked the kind, attentive staff (administrator Evangeline was organized and caring), clean and spacious facility, serene neighborhood, and clearly good medical care at a very reasonable rate. My concerns were poor/skimpy meals, limited activities, and a noticeable number of residents who smoke. Overall I'd recommend it as a calm, well-run, affordable option if the food and smoking issue aren't deal-breakers.
