    Immaculate, caring facility with concerns

I'm so glad we found Cedar Lane. It's immaculately clean, with a kind, knowledgeable and professional staff, good staff-to-guest ratio, dementia-aware caregivers who manage doctors/nurses and include residents in activities - my mother is content and well cared for. Rooms (singles or doubles) are comfortable and well-appointed with TVs and skylights, the outdoor space is lovely, meals are home-cooked, and the calm, joyful atmosphere noticeably improved her quality of life at an affordable value. My only concerns: our room felt small and a bit dingy, and there are no on-duty nurses, which made me uneasy about critical medical decision credibility.

About Cedar Lane Residential Care Home

Cedar Lane Residential Care Home sits in Montara, CA, at 924 Cedar St between Drake St and Edison St, and you get a real sense of peaceful country surroundings there, with a quiet, home-like feel instead of anything big or institutional. The place's been family-owned and run, staying away from being part of a big chain, and it's got friendly staff who pay close attention to each person, working to keep everyone comfortable and happy, whether they're seniors or people with disabilities. Folks can find independent living or assisted living here-and if someone needs dementia or memory care, even for folks with severe dementia, or hospice support, they can stay here knowing help is around the clock.

The home has cozy bedrooms, a sun deck that's nice and sunny, a lovely garden out back for walks or just sitting outside, and both indoor and outdoor common spaces where residents gather for chats or activities. The facility stays clean and organized, and staff help with little things like bathing, dressing, laundry, housekeeping, and getting ready for the day, so residents don't have to worry about everyday chores. There are three well-balanced, home-cooked meals each day that can fit diabetes, allergies, or other diets, and meals happen in a dining room that makes it easy for folks to talk and enjoy company. If you want to bring a pet, pets are allowed, and the staff encourage visiting with other residents and doing things together.

Cedar Lane puts care into supporting medical needs, offering help with medications, health tests and tracking, and assisting people with different health challenges. There are emergency alert systems in rooms for extra safety, and a physician and visiting podiatrist help with health care. Staff work with residents on daily routines, including transfer assistance and bathing, and keep an eye out 24/7, offering supervised care. Personalized care plans get reviewed every six months, or sooner if needed, and you'll find specialists for dementia and behavioral health recovery if someone needs extra help. They offer respite care for families who need a break and counseling services are available.

The place values community and active living, offering daily activities such as movie nights, walking paths, ice cream socials, gardening, local outings, cognitive exercises, and both on-site and off-site events. The facility also offers transportation and parking for trips out. There's a learning center with health education, access to a health library, interactive health tools like symptom checkers, and resources for behavioral health and recovery. Housekeeping and laundry come standard, and there's move-in coordination for those new to the home. Open-door room policies help residents feel safe and connected, and rooms come furnished and ready to use.

Cedar Lane Residential Care Home focuses on a calm, supportive setting where residents can enjoy a stress-free lifestyle, mindful living, and plenty of chances for socializing, so people feel included but not overwhelmed. The team works to bring a sense of community and to pay attention to small details-cleanliness, good meals, fresh air, garden walks, having a place to sit and talk, and activities that help keep minds and bodies going. You'll notice a strong balance of health support and holistic care, with an emphasis on people's happiness and well-being as they age.
