New Orange Hills is a community-owned senior living facility that sits in a quiet area and focuses on both comfort and rehabilitation, where residents get help with long-term living or stay for short-term rehabilitation after an illness or surgery, and every resident receives round-the-clock skilled nursing and personalized care plans made just for them, with staff trained in many medical specialties like wound care, physical therapy, and post-surgical rehabilitation, and the facility itself keeps getting upgrades to make it safer and more comfortable for everyone. The staff-to-resident ratio is high, so residents get more personal attention, and the team includes dedicated and compassionate medical professionals who use both hands-on care and new technology to craft therapy programs that fit each person's needs, though the nurse turnover rate runs higher than state average at 48.2%, and the most recent inspection found 91 total deficiencies, including 7 for infection-related concerns, as well as areas needing better prevention of pressure ulcers and accident hazards. There are 145 certified beds and usually around 133 residents each day, and nurse staffing hours are above state average at 4.91 per resident per day, but management has changed hands, now under James Villafania since February 2023, and the ownership is affiliated with The Ensign Group. Residents can use spacious communal areas, relaxing outdoor spaces, vibrant activity centers, and join a variety of programs and outings that encourage staying social and active, and while the daily rhythm can be lively and enriching, the facility has had recent complaints and regular federal inspections-for example, on February 28, 2025, and January 7, 2025-with a particular need to improve in infection control and accident prevention, yet the commitment is always to safety, compassion, and healing for every guest no matter how long they stay.

Good therapy, serious staffing concerns
I appreciated the excellent rehab team, devoted/caring staff, tasty/diabetic-friendly meals, clean bright facility and lively activities. However, chronic understaffing caused long waits for CNAs, rushed or missed care (including delayed meds/transfers and serious medical concerns reported), overcrowded/noisy conditions, and horrendous parking. Overall I was pleased with therapy and many caregivers but concerned about staffing, safety, and night/evening supervision-inspect staffing and incident history before deciding.
