    About B&B Residential Facilities (39 W)

B&B Residential Facilities (39 W), which is now closed and no longer taking new residents, offered board and care in a small home setting for seniors who needed daily help, and you'd find that it was sometimes called Mimi's Home, Harmony Assisted Living of San Mateo, Our Lady of Peace Residential Care Home, Emerald Residential Care Home, Hacienda Place Elder Care Facility, Three Sisters Care Homes, Hennelly House, Garden Court At The Village, Celeste Care Home, Holland House, and a few other names, but it always kept things personal with room for six residents at a time and provided both private and semi-private rooms with private bathrooms, along with help for people who needed assisted living or memory care, including 24-hour staff and support for Alzheimer's and dementia, medication management, meals that could fit most dietary needs, and special touches like an emergency alert system in the rooms, scheduled activities, and a garden with walking paths. The homes were mostly in quiet neighborhoods like Southeast Hillsdale, Twenty-Fifth Ave, Tulare, Los Prados, Parkside, San Mateo Village, and South Shoreview, so things stayed homey, plus with hospitals, doctors, pharmacies, cafes, restaurants, and parks all close by, seniors didn't have to go far for what they needed. The staff would help with bathing, dressing, and getting around, took care of housekeeping and laundry-even dry cleaning-and tried to make sure everyone felt like family, with attention to each person's needs, sometimes even for folks who needed skilled nursing, and always offered a supportive place that wanted to help people keep their independence as much as possible, though again, it's all closed up now and not open as an option anymore.
