    About Leisure Living Cottages

Leisure Living Cottages is a small, family-owned assisted living community in Mesa, Arizona, and it takes in only five residents at a time, so everyone has a bit more space and attention, and there's a real sense that folks are being looked after in a real home instead of a big facility, especially with private bedrooms or shared rooms with two beds if that's what people like, and there are wide, open floor plans and big vaulted ceilings that help the place feel bright and cozy. Meals are prepared and served every day-three nutritious ones, with healthy snacks, and they pay close attention to dietary needs like diabetes, vegetarian, kosher, low salt, low sugar, or whatever a resident might need, plus there's a family-style dining area where residents can eat together, which helps a lot with feeling connected. Caregivers and licensed nurses help with bathing, dressing, medication, and getting around, whether that's just some light help or heavier care, because they can do things like mechanical lifts for transferring if somebody really needs it, so personal care is always in reach, and routine help like laundry, housekeeping, and linen services is included too.

Residents at Leisure Living Cottages have a full activity schedule with things like art classes, stretching, karaoke, social and recreational events, pet programs, and even devotional services, both on-site and off-site, so there's always something going on, and they try to keep everyone engaged-body and mind-no matter what. Memory care is a big part of what they do, so people with Alzheimer's or dementia get their care plans adjusted regularly, and special attention is paid to routines and daily living for those folks, and the staff are trained for that work, and they make safety and feeling seen a priority. The care covers everything from light supervision to full care, including help with incontinence, diabetes (even blood sugar monitoring and insulin injections), and they're used to managing elopement risks and behaviors that might come with dementia.

The small number of residents means staff know everyone and can check in regularly, and there are visiting professionals like nurses, doctors, dentists, and therapists who come by when needed, and there's a doctor and nurse on call for emergencies. Wheelchair accessible showers, a big jacuzzi-style tub, and private bathrooms are in the home, making personal care easier. If a family needs a short break, the community offers respite care for a few days or weeks, and help's there around the clock, with medication management and regular checkups by registered nurses, plus a Senior Living Counselor who helps with the paperwork and information about Medicare or care options. The home has indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing, music or crafts, plus they allow pets, so a resident who loves animals has that comfort. Residents can get beauty and barber services and have newspapers and magazines to read. The Cottage is licensed under #AL7523H and ALH, and is certified for memory care, but most of all, the folks here try every day to make sure everybody feels safe, comfortable, and at home.
