    Bright remodeled facility with caveats

I toured Harbor Heights and saw a real turnaround under new management - completely remodeled, bright clean rooms, great dining, memory care available, and caring staff like Christine, April, Elka, Steve and Alex who keep families updated. Prices are reasonable and many common areas and the courtyard are lovely, but some spots still need maintenance, rooms/baths are small and not elderly-friendly, and there are lingering cleanliness/pest concerns from the past. I'm cautiously pleased and would recommend visiting in person and checking pest control and bathroom accessibility before deciding.

There's a big focus on community since folks can join in on regular events, outings, and activities listed on a community calendar, and the staff encourages everyone to participate to help people get to know each other, and there's a TV room for socializing, a game room, regular art classes with Grace, and community forums for sharing and talking openly. The dining hall feels open and friendly, with three meals a day, family and friends welcome for meals, and kitchen or kitchenette options in some apartments for anyone who likes being a little independent, and the cooks pay attention to dietary needs so meals work for everybody. If health concerns come up, there's a nursing team, podiatry visits, and personal care services for things like bathing, grooming, and help with medication; plus, the building is licensed, with safety and accessibility features like sprinkler systems and handicap accommodations, so families get some peace of mind.

Harbor Heights offers both indoor and outdoor common areas, housekeeping and laundry services, Wi-Fi and cable TV, and a fitness center plus a salon and barbershop right onsite. There's parking for guests and residents, transportation for doctor visits or trips, and a no-smoking policy indoors. The executive director at Harbor Heights and the aides are described as treating residents like family, and there's a real sense that people look out for one another, which adds to the caring atmosphere that folks notice when they visit. Renovations are underway, focusing on a homelike and hotel-like style so things feel bright and comfortable, and Millennium Security helps make sure everyone's safe.

Harbor Heights keeps things simple for new residents, offering downsizing tips and moving advice, and there's a connect tool on the web platform for setting up assessments, so the move-in goes as smoothly as possible.
