    Beautiful facility, excellent memory care

I moved my mom to The Terraces in San Dimas and I'm really happy with the choice. The building is beautiful and impeccably clean, the chef serves delicious, cruise-like meals and snacks, and activities are thoughtful and engaging. The nursing, PT/OT and medical monitoring are excellent, and staff - Oscar, Robert, Elizabeth and the whole team - are genuinely caring, attentive and experienced in memory care, keeping our family informed and helping with a smooth transition. Minor downsides: occasional understaffing, some layout/parking quirks and fees, but overall I highly recommend it.

About The Terraces at Via Verde

The Terraces at Via Verde sits near I-10 and SR-57, so families and friends can visit easily, and folks can go on outings when they want. Since 2021, the place has focused on providing memory care and assisted living, with special attention to people with Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer's, and other dementias, and the whole building, which is two stories tall, is set up for safety and comfort, like secure outdoor spaces you can walk straight into from each neighborhood, delayed egress doors, and nurse call systems that work in every room. The community's managed by Agemark Senior Living, a family-owned group that pays close attention to both the residents and the details, keeping a high staff-to-resident ratio, so everybody gets the help required day or night, whether it's medical care, help with daily living, or even bedside care during critical or hospice times. There's a lot of natural light throughout, with big open great rooms and wide activity spaces, which are used for enrichment programs, games, baking, art, music, spiritual gatherings, and gentle exercise, as part of the LifeCycles Wellness Program that looks after physical, social, emotional, and spiritual wellness, plus the circular walking paths inside and out mean folks can stay active even if they like to take their time. Each of the community's neighborhoods holds 25-30 residents, all with direct and secure access to outdoor areas, so people get fresh air and can enjoy nature safely, and both private and family moments are encouraged, with rooms set aside for families to visit in comfort. The team focuses on dignity, engagement, happiness, and safety, taking care to monitor hydration and weather conditions, to respect privacy and comfort, and to update families regularly with detailed reports and open communication. Chef-inspired, home-style meals use quality ingredients, served in dining areas that feel homelike, with snacks and drinks always available, and the kitchen team takes care to keep everyone well-fed and healthy. For those who like animals, pets are allowed. The whole building has Wi-Fi and is designed so residents and guests can move about easily, whether using mobility aids or not, and transportation services are available for trips out and about. Residents can choose from different suites and room types, based on personal needs or preferences. Staff members offer kindness and genuine support, making the culture friendly and comforting, and the team has earned recognition, like the Best of Senior Living and All Star awards, for their focus on compassionate, respectful care. The Terraces gives tours for families wanting to look around, sample the dining, and see how the programs work for themselves, while being fully licensed and keeping up with state rules for safety and quality.
